Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>
Only parts linked together can be voided. So your powertrain warranty is fine
An other example, you change your TBE, your whole drivetrain warranty is out because you've changed one element which may have increased power and changed your engine parameters (even if we all know that it would not hurt your car
).
i coulda write him a check for 600 bucks if he let me know that
i can do that instead of adding it on the my payments.
Voiding Warranty
What type of aftermarket parts can i put on my new Evo IX without voiding the warranty? We're talking performance parts, I know Mitsubishi is kind of strict with their warranty for the Evo IX.
Like pltnym said use the search function to find what mods should be ok to do. Your basics like K&N Drop in and Cat-Back are typically ok. More than that and you are running the risk of having no warranty.
yea like he said... driving you car might run you the risk of voiding the warranty... haha... i think they wanted us to buy it... and just look at it everyday... like a rally big model car... lmao...
HAHA I took my car to get looked at due to the clear going bad on my spoiler & they wanted to "pop the hood to see what I have got going on". Let's just say I now have the land speed parking lot exit record.
If you are worried about warranty, don't mod anything that you can't change back to stock quickly.

NO INTAKE MODS ARE ALLOWED! Nothing other than the stock intake and filter. If you have an unlikely turbo failure and you show up with anything other than the stock unit, they CAN deny the warranty. I have dealt with this issue with other turbo charged vehicles. The problem with Mitsubishi is that a majority of people buy these cars to race and they know it so they will question everything. The dealership must prove that the modification caused the failure which pretty much means....don't do anything unless you can put it back to stock before you bring it in. Now there are a few dealership that let some things slide but even they can decide at any time to not warranty a claim.

General rule of thumb (coming from a service manager), anything that can increase/alter boost = bye bye to the warranty. Exhaust, MBC, etc are definitely gonna get it voided, while stuff like fuel pump, intake (I didn't understand why intakes are allowed but that's just what he told me), gauges are allowed.
