Yeah its faster, cheaper, and less stressful just to pick up the wrench and just fix it yourself. Thanks Mitsu!

Talk about dirty - when Subaru first came out with the WRX, they included an SCCA membership in the glove box of each car. Of course, if you competed with your car and they found out, there's goes the warranty. That's like entrapment.

At least Mitsu didn't pull that on us.

Big Corp's have deeper pockets and know they can wear you down and that it's cheaper for you to pay to fix it than fight them in court.....never go to court on principal alone, you'll loose everytime.

The dealer decided to make me a deal since i have a toasted clutch at 1100 miles.......so the dealership owner told me he would charge me only for the parts, and take care of the rest, which is labor. The bill was goin to total 1700, so i got off with only paying 371.00. I still feel robbed, but it wasnt the dealers fault, so they told me that this is a serious problem, and to write mitsubishi mfg direct. So i am in the process of a letter to them as we speak. My car should be ready today for pickup with a new clutch.

A few tip before going to the dealer for warranty work.....

1. make sure you put all the OEM parts back on
2. Make sure you clean all the parts, making it look clean and original.
3. Remove any stickers or neon lights
4. remove all aftermarket gadgets you insatalled inside includes gauges, rador detector, cd players.
5. take your mother or your grandma along. The point is you want them to think you're a good guy.

and at last the most important one....
#6. Wear a business suit, go rent a tux if you have to.

You should not feel "robbed." You should feel lucky that they covered it at all. The RPMs that "would quickly shoot up over 8k" were due to the intake you installed, as was the extremely premature clutch wear, in all likelihood.

It's cases like yours, where YOU created the problem to begin with with ill-advised aftermarket modifications and then expect the dealer to fix it, that push Mitsubishi to crack down so hard on everyone else's warranty claims.

Your post was also extremely misleading to other readers and potential Evo purchasers in that you made it sound like your car had these problems bone stock right off the showroom floor, which was not the case at all...

An evo friend of mine told me that this is because of too much air flow, and maybe the stock BOV cannot handle the amount of air intake. Does anyone know what the problem is? ANy help at all is very appreciated! thanks.

You sir are a tard........did i say they covered it all? No, so first of all read alittle more closely my post this time before u make replies. I did have problems from day one, the clutch smelled from the first week i had it. And 5th gear would grind from day one. And the intake system after i installed it just happened to be a coincidence that the clutch had gone. The intake had NOTHING to do with it.....What are u a mitsubishi sales person or warranty claim buster?

Is alignment covered by warranty??

My IX has 10,500 miles,.... my 2 front wheels are peeling on the inside. (and inside only) I went to complain at the dealer and they told me that that is on me.

I "could have hit" a bump and the car misalign...... But on both wheels??

My car is 100% stock,.. do I have any options??? complain more? or am I out of luck??

TIA,
Jon.

Yes, alignment should be covered in the 12mo/12,000mi "Adjustment Period" described in your warranty manual. They should fix the alignment for you under warranty. But I don't think you'll get any new tires out of the dealer. The stock tires typically do not last much past 10,000mi anyway... If it took 10k mi to destroy the front tires, your alignment was not that far off to begin with. A REALLY bad alignment with lots of toe set could run through tires in a matter of a few hundred miles.
