Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>
The head tech can say whatever they want! But when your car goes in the shop to have a warranty work done that costs over $1k the regional rep will look at the car and will deny your claim/void your warranty.
It doesnt matter what he says its the regional rep that decides yes or no....its great that he is nice and all, but when it comes to the warranty it doesnt matter who is on your side.
some guy told me i can upgrade the clutch as long as it isnt a 6-puck....so i asked him what about a twin disc and he said thats fine. Also he said tbe and flash is fine but if i get a intercooler its voided. most of the people at the dealer dont know **** and you cant believe them.

Real nice guy, said that Mitsubishi doesn't always need to know what has been modded.
This is why I bypassed the Service manager and went right to the lead tech.

Now in most cases, the Service Manager calls the shots and determines what is covered or not, but when it is necessary the Service Manager will get the Regional Service Manager involved.
I spoke with my local Service Manager about these types of claims, and he was like "I pretty much call the shots, and determine if we will cover it or not. It is up to me to get the Regional involved, but I typically make the decision whether or not any particular modifications will void the warranty."
I also confirmed with him that even though you may upgrade the exhaust, if your AC stops working, it has nothing to do with the mods. The unrelated malfunction WILL be covered if your warranty has not yet expired.
Peeling Brembos being replaced by Mitsubishi w/ powder coated ones
Breaking news on Brembo brake calipers.
About a week after having my brakes ugraded with SS lines, DOT 4(Motul600) and sqawk HP pads, I noticed several areas on my calipers where the clear coat was beginning to peel. very little, if any fluid got on the calipers according to my Tech. I took my car by the dealer and showed them, they said they would pass the info on to the local Mitsubishi rep, they weren’t sure whether it would be covered. I politely informed them that they would leave me no other option than to consult with my attorney should they choose not to cover this issue. To their credit, this was the 1st time I ever had to mention an attorney, of which I have on retainer(I dont recommend using the attorney word unless you really mean to go that route). I consulted w/ my attorney in regards to the situation, they stated that if it was due to fluid contact that MNA would most definitely be liable to replace same and that it would be a design/usage defect, either way I had legal recourse. I called Brembo N. America and spoke with their rep. He told me that only the calipers used by Mitsubishi, Subaru, and Nissan were having issues w/ the clear coat.
Today my dealer called me to tell me Mitsubishi was giving me two options: a one time replacement of all 4 calipers immediately or I could wait a month or two and have them replaced w/ new powder coated calipers furnished by Brembo & installed by Mitsu. Needless to say, I choose option no#2.
I just thought I would let you all know that Brembo & mitsubishi are acknowledging that there is a problem and they’re willing to do something about it. Brembo also stated that all their high performance calipers are not showing any issues that the OEM calipers are experiencing. So if you’ve had issues with peeling calipers recently you now have recourse. To date, this is the 3rd warranty issue that I've had with my 05 Evo VIII, all fairly minor issues, all handled very well by my local Mitsubishi dealer
