Also let me state again that Evos are built calendar year to calendar, so production just started at the beginning of the month, so don't expect to start seeing 2004 Evos for another month or so here in the states.

The 2004 Evo RS brought to the SoCalEvo club event was a pre-production press vehicle not a production car.

anyone in here looking to buy the rs? sorry i didn't really read many of the posts on the previous 40 pages, so idk if anyone's said this yet...but if you're planning on getting one, what for? rally? autox? just curious...personally i was surprised when i heard about mitsu releasing it, but it's not a bad thing by any means

 

Yes I'm planning on getting the RS in white, no options. I will use it for road race events, auto-x and an occasional drag race. It will be my weekend car, and I will take it out and look for prey on NYC and LI highways. :P I will also go with the Buschur Stage 4 upgrade kit. My goal is to make enough power to run mid 11's in the 1/4 mile.

Hey guys im new to posting on the forums(been reading on them like a year now) I current have a 02 Lancer OZ and im going to be buying my EVO in FEB/MARCH. Ive Going to the Dealers every weekend almost religiously and SUN i spoke with the FLEET manager at my local MITSU DEALER. I WANT BLU BY YOU/SUNROOF/BIG SPOILER. THEY HAD ONE BLUE BY YOU NO SUNROOF IN THE LOT. HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE LAST ONE IN SOCAL. AND THAT HE WOULD NOT BE GETTING ANYMORE UNTILL DEC WHEN THE 04's COME OUT. NOW I JUST CANT BRING MYSELF to believe that the 04's are coming in Dec. I Smell B.S !! What do u guys think.

Look for the 2004s in another month or two. I hate salesman that don't know their info or worse yet, lie to customers.

 

I've been waiting for the 04's as well - last update from the dealer as of last week was a mid February release, as there are still 200+ 03's in port or something (they tell me). Add 6 weeks to that for a dealer search if you want something specific (ie. small wing, no moonroof, etc.)

Whether it's true or not, I don't know, but that's the story I've gotten.

 

In April of 2004 the 04 Evo's will be released. In September of 2004 the 05's will be released. as of now they are making the 03's last as long as they can. The 04's are already built...

 

Where do you guys get so much wrong information from? Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Yeah I heard this too, the 04's from late march to late sept. Late sept. the 05' shipment is supposed to begin.

Read it here previously, and in a mag, tho can't member which one, and now in this thread.

 

i dont get why mitsubishi is coming out w/ 04s in america in the first place, they lost money on the 03s cuz they didnt sell like they are meant to, so why come out w/ the 04s? that there is the reason that mitsubishi is in so much financial trouble, they make STUPID mistakes like bringing another year of the evo in america....

 

Any lost money is lost at the dealer level not at Mitsu level. They get paid by the dealers for every car unloaded off the truck no matter what.

 

I will since I get my information direct from Mitsubishi PR, not a dealer that typically has been misinformed. Where are you getting your information?
