new Evo
Hi, I'm new to the boards, actually this is my first post! I was out shopping for a new car this past weekend and came across a silver 2003 Evo. I have NEVER driven one. They didn't want to let me drive one at first, I said no problem, then I KNOW I don't want one. They let me drive it. BASTARDS!!!!!!!!! Now I love the car. Crap. Now I want the car. Crap. I have been infected! I don't want the car I NEEEEEEEEEED the car. OK a little dramatic.
Any way, the salesman, who can trust them?? said some interesting things I would like to bounce off you guys: 1) they are only going to make 2500 EVOs for 2003 not the 5000 they planned 2) 2003 is the only year for the US version of the EVO.
Any truth to this? By the way, I was really impressed with the Mitsu dealer in Fishers Indiana. He said if I was serious about buying to call him up. He is willing to sell for "a little below MSRP". Not too shabby.
By the way my current car has a Mitsu v6 in it, and I loved it (till I drove the EVO).

It's funny because over on the Subie boards they are saying this will be the only year for the STi. I doubt it is true, but the "source" are people who've been on the board for a while and seemed to know a lot about the car before it was released, and not from some "untrustworthy lying salesman."
I heard "Mitsubishi Racing" Maybe since the average joe can relate what Mitsubishi Racing is, but RalliArt is only clear to those in the know....
Fingers Crossed for more readable guages in the 2004 Evo as well!

After floggin at M3 SMT and 360 F1, they may not be the ultimate performance option, but for having a street car it just rocks. I'm still trying to find a MR Spyder owner with their SMT to see just how much different Toyota's version is.
If you haven't driven SMT rides yet, It is simlar the Evo; on paper you can read up all you want and compare specs, but once you drive it, then your eyes just pop out and you get the warm fuzzy feeling. Once you drive one you fall in love. slippin around some high speed corners keeping both hands on the wheel at all timesand not having to grab a gear coming out of a corner is just so tingly good feeling. Going into the next corner with each downshift so perfect is just overwhelmingly intoxicating. And the best part is you can't screw up and miss a shift. It's an experience everyone owes it to themselves to go drive.

This is probably a stupid argument, but why did they call it the MR instead of the Ralli/Art?

I remember a "stripped down" GTO/3000GT MR version, but I am not sure if they applied it the Cyborg/Mirage line and the FTO line. I can't find my copy of the original GT for the PSOne
Ralliart is (and probably should be) reserved for Lancer (and only)Evolutions. But of course, they are going to get in the FWD business here pretty soon.
i was reading in car and driver magazine that the new mitsubishi ralliart's are here, they are basically cars that compare to both the protege 5 from mazda and the ford focus SVT. It comes in a wagon and sedan and is 160hp. They also mentioned that there are rumors going around about both a ralliart lancer (ls,es,oz) and (please god)the ralliart evo. so everyone cross your fingers and maybe in a year or two we will all be talking about the new ralliart evos............
