Next year's "RS" Evo could very well be badged as a "Ralliart" the MR badge might be a bit too confusing. As if ES, LS, OZ, Ralliart, Ralliart Sportback, Evolution aren't ready enough for the Lancer family. Hell, they are talking about bringing the Colt over here again. If they do I hope they give it a unique name rather then it being a Lancer Colt or Lancer Hatchback.
2004 Evo Info May Be Around the Corner
Check the following links as they may provide information on 2004 models in the future. As of today they have not worked for me. Sometimes I get these broken links; sometimes I don't.

Theoretically a picture of the 2004 Evolution and links to download a zip file containing pictures of the 2004 Evo are available.

I'm not sure if anyone has commented on this but production of the EVO's runs from calendar year to calendar year. Also, I wouldn't put stock in alot of what's been speculated on for 2004. Look for an announcement at SEMA about the 04's.

Some how all mitsubishi Evo 8 owners need to come together and make mitsubishi Have a factory performance upgrade option. They should sell us parts that will give us more HP and will not void the warranty. The Fq-300 comes with HKS parts. Whats up with that?

If that is true, I wouldn't expect any changes to the car at all until the Evo IX appears....

I figured some members might be interested in the possible new look.

Those have been posted and those are probably right on the money based ont he look of the 2004 lancers. It would be be very cool if they clued in and offered a hatchback Evo like Subaru does with the WRX. If only I could give them my hard earned money for a hatchback Evo with cruise, SMT, and full underbody aerodynamic paneling. I guess I wouldn't be able to get the cool big wing with a hatchback though..

from what i hear at the mitsubishi dealerships, is that the lancer evolution 8 2004 model is going to be the same as the lancer 2003 model....
1# reason for them not upgrading is because of mitsubishi's poor sales in the US overall... not just with the lancer.... lancer evolution is not doing that great either.... because most people still dunno what it is...
o ya i acutally got to see the 2004 model... looks the same... nothing different... the salesmen showed me all of mitsubishi's new 2004 models... even the new lancer sportback... they r all going to be unveiled at some car show in san francisco i think... at the moscone center or something
newayz i wouldnt bet on mitsubishi upgrading more parts netime soon.... mainly cuz of poor sales in the US.... i.e. the civic beating out the lancer...

If that is the case, I bet they're going to be going for next to nothing. If nothing is improved, you might as well find a used 2003, especially with the possibility of warrranty denial.
Mitsu said from the get-go at the car shows that the Evo would be the same for 2004...
They are looking at 2005 or later to release the true US spec Evo...in fact the the US spec Evo will be very different from the Japanese one...they have been saying this for quite some time...so please stop with the rumors please...the 2004 has been old news since the Evo 2003 came out...
