2004 MY Evo | All Goes in Here. Anything and Everything. [All Threads MERGED]
You are right in your thinking, but I think I confused things a little.
There are two pricelines, simply marked A and B.
The A line has two templates A00 and A80, this is the RS.
The B line has four templates A00, A09, A67, and A68.
In my initial post I was only reffering to the RS or "A" line and since A00 usually referes to the base car, my thinking is the A80 is the UJ package. And also that the RS will not be available with a spoiler of any type from the factory. Maybe the package will include painted door handles too, which seems odd if it won't have any special "RS" emblems. The black door handles would give it that hardcore look, IMO.
If this whole leather thing and/or 315 sound system is true, then there aren't enough templates to cover the standard Evo's two wings, sunroofs and sound systems. So something is going to have to give. I'll post more as I learn more, but the official template sheets haven't been released yet.

Ahh. so these templates you're talking about are basically like chassis designations/ order codes from the factory. Do you work at a dealership or some other branch of mitsu corp? Do they ever have options outside of these packages? Like you said, it doesn't add up for the leather seats and infinity sound system.

How about for line B:
A00 = Standard EVO
A09 = Sunroof
A67 = Leather seats
A68 = Infinity AM/FM/CD w/subwoofer

Based on the 2003 model run there were the following "packages"? What were the 6 templates?
Sunroof, Big Wing
Sunroof, small wing
Sunroof, no wing
no Sunroof, Big Wing
no Sunroof, small wing
no Sunroof, no wing
Sunroof, Big Wing
Sunroof, small wing
Sunroof, no wing
no Sunroof, Big Wing

I am a salesman at Murphy Mitsubishi in Pelham, Alabama a 'burb of Birmingham.
The templates are merely options groups. A low number like A00 is typically the base car. Sometimes they make changes for mid production and you'll have a A03 for the base or so, but it doesn't happen too often.
For the '03 car:
LE-41B or just B priceline included 4 templates
A00 - big spoiler, no roof
A03 - small spoiler, no roof
A61 - big spoiler, roof
A64 - small spoiler, roof
The small spoiler was "standard" and so was the lack of a sunroof. But you have to have some sort of template on the car as a default. So this time around, with there only being four templates again, I am guessing they might be dropping the small spoiler. I don't think it was all that popular. I didn't order any.

See i did a search, but this thread doesn't give all too much insight into when the 04's will be out. Since this is 5 months old, I think it is safe to ask if anyone knows when the 04 models will be showing up at dealers.
My thinking is, a new
designed car will debut sooner than later (probably for the 2005 model year in the US and immidiately for the rest of the world) if there is a drastic design change with the new WRC.

of course if you look at the trends of evo's 1-7 you'll notice that they are not produced every year. now assuming since this is america's first run at them.... they should produce 8's again next year, but thats up to mitsu to decide.
2004 Evo
The 2004 Evo's are already out, from what I have heard. The Mitsu. dealership here wont get any because it's such a small town. I did see pictures though and they do NOT look any different then the 03's. Which is probably why they are not giving any price cuts on the 03's.
My dealer sold a lot of Evos (especially for being in a small Midwestern town), and they were able to get one last allocation to order one to be built in November. The order deadline was Nov. 5th. I put in the order, figuring that it would be worth waiting a few weeks to get the latest production. It's expected to be here in mid-December, and I'm told that it will be a 2003.
So, it appears that even up intil right now, they are still making '03s, which is quite interesting.I still have my fingers crossed that it will come as an '04, but it doesn't seem likely. They seem to be set on sticking to that calendar year production.
There's speculation on there not being an '04, but the RS is definately coming over, so I would doubt it. They only expect 700 RS's, so I'd doubt that will be the only model available.
The standard line has always been that they'll be here in Feb or March, which appears to be correct still.
