I regreat driving my evo 8 with stock suspension for months. I put MR struts and swift lowering springs on it...now it actually rides like an evo should. Period

No so much mods but I definately regret a couple of purchases. First one is a Triple gauge pod for the A-pillar. Everyone I've seen is generic and there is no good way to secure it without drilling into the metal or half azzing it. The second bad purchase was an EGT Gauge by Megan Racing that crapped out within a few weeks. I also bought an Oil Pressure Gauge and never installed it. I wised up and now I only have my three essentials......Boost, Wideband, Meth Gauge for my HFS-5 meth kit.

LOL ... what warranty?

Evo's have a 36 minute/36 mile warranty ... after that everything is considered "customer abuse".

I may be 4 years separated from my VIII but I regret pouring so much money into power and suspension modifications instead of using that money for track time. The car was loud, unruly, and uncomfortable when I was done but really never had a purpose with it all.

My exhaust.

Don't get me wrong, performance-wise I love it, but sadly it doesn't go well with a JDM back end (which I would love to have). So now it's either keep the OE rear, or get a new exhaust to better match the JDM...neither is an appealing choice.

Hmm as a person who might be getting into a bone stock Evo IX MR SE with 12,000 miles this makes me not want to touch it especially since it will be a DD.

don't let all the babies scare you... just research your mods (threads like this), don't spend beyond your means, and have a clear goal in mind, whether it be performance-based, cosmetic, or both.
