I 100% regret getting a built block. These things are nothing but nightmares. What a PITA to have to wait for it to warm up. They make all kinds of noise you are always worried about them grenading due to possible crappy build.

Unless you have plans for 500whp there is no reason at all to go with forged pistons.

If you went to a reputable shop, you shouldn't have to worry about build quality. Also, sorry to break it to you, but the stock pistons are forged.

You should bring it up to temperature before doing anything whether your motor is built or not

Sorry sir you're probably confusing it a bit. The U.S.-specification Evo's 4G63T has a revised and reinforced cast iron block filled with a reciprocating assembly consisting of a durable forged steel crankshaft, and 150 mm forged steel connecting rods, but the cylinders are filled with (8.8:1) compression ratio CAST pistons that are made out of a durable, lightweight AC8A (T6) aluminum designed to withstand forced induction cylinder pressures for an extended period.

I disagree with "anything". With the stock block, I start it up and give it few seconds to stabilize (S2 cams and an iffy aftermarket IAC means that in cold weather it may stall in the first minute).

But then, once I can tell it's stabilized, I just drive it gently (the car warms up faster this way and you're not adding significant wear) until it's up to temp.

Then I get on it.

Yeah I shouldn't have said anything lol. I usually warm mine up anywhere from 30 second to a few minutes depending on temp and if it's a true cold start, just cuz. But I don't do any spirited driving until after the oils are fully warm to the temps they should be.
I see some people start their car up and just go WOT out of their driveway in the morning lol

Regret getting rid of my OS Giken Twin plate clutch it died peacefully. This clutch worked and held for as long as it lived

Regret buying the ACT clutch that walked my crank not once but twice.

Regret buying a clutch masters clutch as I've had nothing but mixed emotions with this clutch.

So...I'm just going to suck it up and spend the cash to get me another OS Giken TS2B Twin plate clutch

I regret buying a QM 8 leg for daily driving in Chicago traffic. 15,xxx miles and left me stuck on the highway yesterday. LOVED the clutch just not the life span, daily driving killed it.

I actually probably would have gotten 30,000 miles total. The disc themselves had plenty of life left, it was the hub on the discs that wore out. The teeth wore out to almost smooth. Was just spinning on the inputshaft. Might not seem like an ideal clutch for daily but after you get used to the engagement it truly is amazing. I have a single disc in now and miss my twin more than I thought I would
