maybe, even if that was true you can buy this one for the cost of getting the stock one reworked and sell the stock one and end up money ahead.

There is a certain CFM where switching to 70mm would be beneficial.
Why not do it right the first time and only have to buy 1 part... which just so happens to be at the same price point and cleanly deletes the EGR/Coolant ports.
^Agreed! I just purchased a stock IM that I'm going to port to match my FB 70mm TB. I am estimating a 5-15 hp increase with my mods. The one thing I don't quite fully understand is if the 2.5" ic piping diameter will be a restriction. Assume I have enough flow to justify it, would a 3" piping/3" inlet and outlet FMIC free up more power? I'm assuming yes. I think I need to do some testing.

^^^^^ I am wondering the same thing. I have the 70mm from the MAP rev3 purchase. I ported the head and exhaust mani myself, and am also wondering if I need bigger IC piping. I have the ETS 3.5 on order but still the smaller piping too. Just haven't done any research/shopping for the piping, because I didn't have the tank (particularly the end tanks in hand yet. The TB looks like it can swallow a watermelon

3" IC Piping will hinder spool and not really benefit under ~700whp. 2.5" is plenty fine. TBs are a "last resort mod" to me, as the hp/$ ratio is hideous.

i agree, i mostly bought mine because the stocker was leaking and i didnt feel like fixing it and the full blown is just a lot cleaner looking with the lack of ports and barbs.

Has anyone had issues with a high idle w/ this tb? I've got the set screw loosened all the way, and the idle is still around 1300-1500.

Sounds like a large vacuum leak to me.

If you have the ability to do a boost leak test, do that first thing.

That will more than likely expose your problem.

I'm definitely planning on doing a boost leak test, but on second thought I think it's TPS related. I datalogged and at idle it's at like 19% instead of the usual 13.3%

My tps at idle from the factory was around 16%. If your TPS reads 100% @ WOT, and not a millimeter sooner, I would not suspect the TPS to be the culprit. Stranger things have happened, though.

Hmm mine has been at 13.33% every time I've ever logged my car, so seeing it at 19-20% throws a red flag for me. I'll try to log for wot too and see where it lands. One guy in another thread said that the tb flange on his rev3 manifold was warped so badly that you could see daylight. So I'll have to check that too.

Sure enough, when I went home and logged the car in the off position, it was at 19.2% and reached 100% before the butterfly was fully open. I adjusted the TPS until the readout was 13.33 (repeating of course) and idle is fine now.

I felt like I had a boost leak. Drivability, rich afr's, etc. Anyhow, I found some leaks, but this one has got me stumped on what to do now. Here's a vid:
