Evo vs. STI | Anything and Everything [ALL THREADS MERGED]
This has to be the longest thread I have ever seen. With that said....
I personaly like both cars. No one car is right or wrong. It all depends on the person and style. If it was the end of the world and I had to choose one to drive away with Halle Berry
It would be the Evo.
At my young age when your insurance company sees the 300hp stock, rates go up. Not to mention there is something about a FMIC that just makes me smile

I've driven the 2004 STi twice and a 2003 Evo twice now and I'm still having a hard time deciding between the two (I'd get the 2005 of whichever I decide, but driving a 2005 of either seems to be next to impossible). The STi has all these creature comforts and a great company behind it and it's reliable as all hell, but the Evo...well, it's just more fun to drive. The angel on one shoulder says "get the STi, it's the smarter choice" and the devil on the other shoulder says "dude, the Evo rocks" -- oh, what a decision!
I feel for you bro, ultimately the Angel won out for me and I got the 04 STI. Too much bad experience with Mitsu in the past and their current questionable financial status drove me away. If they shore up their sales and get good financial backing, I "may" trade in the 04 for an MR.

How have you enjoyed the STi? After driving it a while, do you still wonder if (or think) the Evo is more "fun" on a daily basis? I'd really like to have each car as a daily driver for a week plus a day at the track and *then* make my decision, but I doubt any dealers will let me do that. :-)

Oh, I have access to an evo since my neighbor and I swap cars on a regular basis. The Evo is definitely the better of the 2 when I just want to get lost and drive into the sunset. My kidneys however appreciate the STI's more civil street manners as a daily driver, lol. All in all the STI is definitely more suited for a daily ride than the hardcore evo.
This forum is getting way too big. Need to shrink it down a bit, since I'm sure all of the things said here is said over and over and over again...
Nobody is going to read all 2500 posts. If they do, they got issues.

I totally agree with plokivos this topic has been hammered out EVERY posible thing has been said there is nothing new only so many times you can compare specs and race results and comfort and all that stuff..
Evo MR vs. STi
Since the other merged Evo vs. STi thread is so huge and it was started before the MR arrived, I think we should start a new thread. As the WRX is the base model for the STi, the Evo is the "base" model for the MR.
The MR vs. STi is a much better comparrison. The obvious points being the "softer" ride in the MR (while increasing handling
), the wonderful 6 speed, and of course the ACD.
Has anyone had the privalege of comparing an MR back-to-back with an STi? How about some automotive reviews or comparisons? Well... it's time to put a new spin on an old record. Let's hear it!

The MR is just a different spec'd EVO, along with the RS. In Japan, they have STI Spec C.
Well, do you need the MR since it is $34k instead of $30k for the base EVO. What is your needs?
