Throttle body air leak...Pics inside with how to fix!!!

i got an evo 4 with idle problems, idles aroud 850 like it should but vacuum is not stable, i did a boost leak test and also heard a whole lot of hissing coming from the throttle body since 5 psi, went to 10 psi ~ in my boost leak test , i put soapy water , and i got bubbles from here : http://www.imagebam.com/image/aa5da965101852

Pop it off and rtv it back on, I had the same problem on the 3g

Works High Pressure Throttle Body Shaft Seal...not sure if it'll work on your model, but it doesn hurt to give them a call

The leak he showed is near the IAC valve and not at the throttle butterfly shaft.

The OP has the right idea when checking for leaks. They are much easier to pinpoint the source if you start from the TB and work your way to the turbo. Also, I like to mix up a solution of soapy water and brush it on any fittings or joints to look for bubbling.

I got these re-usable composite gaskets from this vendor. ask for Calvin, who used to work at gruppe-s and speed element.

Looks interesting, but seems like its a boost leak waiting to happen. How is it holding up for you?

those arent for the area im referring to, any one knows what seals there are where im pointing at? or if there arent any seals there or if i need to use sealant or something ? and if there is like a cap there?

i fixed the area im pointing at , and now i found out its also looking at the shaft and alot more than the other area... so i could use mil spec oem to fix it? will it stay good or is it better to buy a new throttle body?

The mil.spec seals are much better than stock.
