Thanks for the response Thuan, I just don't want to be in a situation like EVL VIII mentioned where they'll only do it if it's throwing a code or some other special situation, espcially since no dealership around me would be "my" dealership if I buy it from South Coast

I just had it done.

I don’t know about the top end, but the bottom end is like a whole new car. I used to get the car to sputter coming out of 1st and 2nd, especially when the when the A/C on full blast. Now the power is liner and I don’t have the slightest hesitation.

I'm getting it done Monday at 3:00 at Max Madsen in Dowers Grove, IL. I've never noticed any hesitation. The car has stalled once for no reason. It's like it had an idle surge. Former DSMer's should know what I'm talking about.

I have a few mods on the car right now (straight exhaust and a cone filter) and the reflash seems to like them. Im putting a mbc on tomoro and a boost control. Well which is it a MBC (manual boost controller) or a boost controller (assuming u mean EBC electronic boost controler)

I called my dealer. Even though my vin falls within the TSB, they refused to give me the flash unless I have a check engine light, or the idle issues occur on a test drive. I have not thrown the light, and the idle issues are so sporadic that you drive the car an hour and not experience them.

The dealer attempted to explain to me that they could not give me the flash without verification due to lemon law implications.

I think that is hillarious. I could already file a lemon law complaint based on my grinding shifter.

If you read the "TSB" memo sent out to dealers, it clearly states that only SOME of the customers have had the cel light come on....

Mitsubishi wrote in the document that...

"Any GSR below the Vin#JA3AW86V08U049108 is affected."

I havent had the light come on in my X, but im still making them give me the flash because I have a VIN# below the stated one. If you VIN is below the one Mitsu put out, MAKE the dealerhsip re-flash your X.

TSB factory reflash EVO X dyno tested

hp & tq

boost & afr

Looks like Mitsubishi finally got the tune where it should be for the EVO X. The engine pulls noticably smoother, and the owner reports that the funky idle fluctuations are now gone. I recommend anyone with an EVO X to get this TSB reflash. The only only caveat is that this new rom may not be immediately compatible with the up and coming ECUTEK reflash software. Someone will probably have to have their TSB reflash rom pulled and sent to ECUTEK for deciphering before it can be tuned.

Here is a before and after comparison with and without the TSB. The original runs were made a few months ago when the X first came out.

With custom tuning this car w/o any physical modifications shouldn't have any problem making 260-270 whp. The factory TSB reflash is definately a nice addition, and should have come this way when the car first came out.

Oh cool, my vin is 8U607046 and they're telling me my car isn't affected. Sure it isn't, i'm just imagining all these symptoms described in the TSB. If it's the last 6 then sure mines over, but if its the last 5 like posted above, i should be covered.

Curtis, Southside Mitsu has the flash, but they are booked up. My appointment for my tranny and flash is May 17th!

Wow, that was fast. It looks good up top but what happened to the boost. It looks like it spools slower after the reflash.

That is awesome!! I was hoping someone would throw there TSB flashed evo back on the dyno to see the differance. The results are amazing! Exactly what I was hoping for! Gas mileage should also improve. Thanks for the great news. I get mine flashed on Tuesday.
