Getting it Wednesday if all goes well. Does the car feel better? Does it feel more like an evo up top on the rpm after this? those of you who have it? Seems like there is actually a power loss at 2600-4000rpm.

Actually it pulls linear all the way to 7500 RPMs something my stock Evo 8 never did (high rpm drop off). For some reason there is a bit more turbo lag after the flash. SE said they could bring back the spool with a custom tune.

I did say reflash as well. Funny thing tho, my evo never really had the rough idle symptoms until... I started to go to the dealer this morning. How about that.

Guys, If the dealer says you need a CEL for the reflash, make the car have a CEL! Just take out the rear o2 sensor and go for a 5 minute drive. Done

not so sure about that... look at 3200 rpm... loses 20 hp...

why couldn't they just fix the upper rpm band?

Well I called the dealer In Reno this AM and he said to come on down NOW...we'll flash it right away. Welcomed me with open arms. Flashed it and I was outta' there before I could say much smoother running car thank you. Runs a lot better. No 5k hesitation and rock solid idle with a bit more power on top.

Got to give props to ALLISON MITS' in Reno for unreal service. Walt's the man there. He couldn't have been more cooperative. I was ready for a fight yet I ended up being blown away by the good service

29.8 MPG on factory reflash

Hey guys, i got my factory reflash and went on a drive from lax to arcadia (about 35 miles mostly highway with a little stop and go) and averaged 29.8 mpg. Before the reflash the best I could manage when driving very carefully was around 23. Just thought I would share this with you.

I'm not usually inclined to trust those average mpg indicators, but from your average speed (53mph) I can see that you must have had it on the highway using cruise control, as you indicated. And I know I've never seen a computed average mpg anywhere near the 29.8 mpg in your picture, so this looks great. When you fill up could you give us an average mpg over the whole tank?

I'm excited now. Thanks for the update.
