I don't know about 300 WHP that's hard to say without a dyno. What I can say is that there was a big difference between resetting the ECU and not resetting it.

Make sure you disconnect from the trunk battery and pump the brakes. Wait a couple minutes and reconnect the battery. Then start the car let it idle for about 7-10 minutes making sure you don't press the gas. Turn the car off and start it again if you want to take it out for a drive.

If you don't turn the car off after the reset above your RPM idle will bounce around like crazy. I tried this a few times and you have to turn the car off and restart it so you don't get the bouncy idle.

you can just go into the accessport setting and reset the ECU back into learning mode as well. 150x easier and quicker

Tim just tuned my X at Plano. Jeff @ Perrin highly reccomended him to me as well. The shop and employees where very nice. I say get it done there I got great results. They will be posted some time tonight or this weekend.

good to hear guys. Now I'm debating on purchasing a cat-back and downpipe. lol. All I wanted was a stock tune with only a drop in air filter. It's good to know there's some folks around here who are capable of tuning these cars.

For Stg II we currently have a setup being beta'ed be several people. Cobb will be on holiday from Dec 24th through the first of the year. We will be releasing Stg II maps and boost line configurations the first part of January when we get back.

Once released, customers will be able to source reconfigured boost lines from us as well as make your own for Stg II. We will be releasing the boost line specs as well.

Thanks,
Rob

Didn't see it anywhere, but I know the stock Evo X map has a pair of mappings which are automatically selected in case detonation is detected. In other words, if you are stuck and can't get 93, or are sold bad gas, or whatever, the ECU switches to the low octane, low performance map, as a safety precaution, then later (?) switchs back to the standard 93 octane mapping if it's deemed safe by the ECU.

Is this safety feature gone once the AP map gets loaded, or do they do something similar?

thanks!

All of the ECUs safety features are still active with the AP.

Thanks,

They don't switch, they interpolate, depending on knock counts, etc

You need an AccessPORT to use it, but there are no additional costs associated with it. It gives you the same level access as the Pro software. The key difference being anyone with the RACE software can open/modify the maps created in RACE. The PRO software locks the maps to the tuner, so Tuner X can't see maps from Tuner Y and visa versa.

Regarding the above Underlined quotes:

So say I have "Company/Person A" PROtune my car (obviously using ProTuner software)..

Later on, I purchase some more parts, thus need/want to do some minor adjustments to my tune, but I don't want to use "Company/Person A" again.

Are you saying that it would not be possible for me to modify the tune myself/have "Company/Person B" do the minor adjustments since the maps were "locked" by the PRO Software?

Yes, one tuner will not be able to see/open the others tune. This is/was requested by the tuners themselves to protect what work they have done learn tuning on a particular vehicle/setup.

Thanks

I think the Tuner also has the option to save your map into Race format using the ProTuner software. So it's up to them if you are locked out or not.

I have an Accessport and was planning on getting a tune at Cobb in Plano. I hope that they will do an unlocked tune, otherwise I will be selling my Accessport.

I curious why an unlocked tune would be important to you?

Talk with the tuner there, I'm betting it would not be a problem to save your map as a race map.
