I assume you need to buy an access port and then there is some cost associated?

I'd need at least two and likely three tunes (91, 93, & STU legal [ie. no boost changes ])

I'm thinking that the cost of the tunes will be > than the cost of the accessport.
Quite honestly I'm not sure on cost. Contacting Chris @ the Plano location would probably be best. We should already have tunes that will be very close for 91, 93, and STU. That being said each map should only need minor changes for your specific motor and modifications. I believe the STU tune was/will be created on Brian's MR of www.vorshlag.com. Here is their project thread http://vorshlag.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6369&page=2.

Thanks,
Rob

FYI i got quoted around 400 for dyno tuning on top of the price of the AP at a different location out east.

Ouch. If you though ECUTek was pricey at $700, then ~$1,000 for an access port and custom tune is a kick square in the nuts.

I sent Chris an email, we'll see what he says.

What kind of knock counts are acceptable when running a stage 1 map? I logged knock retardation, and have noticed sporadic knock retardation of .35, and .7... the majority of the time it's at 0...

If anyone has any thoughts, that would be greatly appreciated!

Any California owners using the 91 octane map? Is the timing retarded a bit to make sure it doesn't knock with our crap gas?\

I believe it's called the ACN91 GSRv100 MAP (Arizona/California/Nevada crap gas tune).

So will the Accessport help with the crappy quirks of the Mitsu factory reflash? I'm sick of it.

Hey if you are going to order and everyone is the same price. Go with Perrin, they offer an extra Stage 1 map made by them, and it seems to give more juice than the COBB map.

The AP most definitely will smooth out the driving experience while adding a good dose of power. One point we really work on is the transition points and making them very smooth.

Thanks,
