I think that would have to be correct, except wouldn't it be a 6 speed manual (what would be the point of having a 5 speed when they have already developed the 6 speed, except for the RS models of course). I think it would be unlikely that they would go from a car that is manual only to one that is auto only. They didn't even go to the 6 speed straight away, the 5 speed was still an option because the 6 speed wasn't motorsport tested and this new gearbox probably isn't either.

I haven't been reading up on the X, but someone told me that it's not going to be on the 4g63 platform anymore... True? That makes me angry if so.. well... not really.

That is true except that from what I have read so far the new engine will be an evolution of the 4G63. It will still be a 4 cylinder, 2L, turbo, DOHC, 16 valve engine like it is now and with MIVEC like the IX but it will have an aluminium block and a few other modifications. I am sure Mitsubishi will use all the experience gained from racing the 4G63 to make this new engine at least as good as the 4G63 is.

I think the drivetrain will probably be very similar to how it is now with the S-AYC and ACD and stuff but developed a bit further and using some of the new technologies as well.

The need more displacement. A 2.4L would be really sweet.

Well I think that is debatable, they seem to do just fine with 2L. They are also have to comply to the WRC rules (and Group N as well). More displacement wouldn't hurt I guess (except fuel economy but that isn't what this car is about) but until the WRC changes (or Mistubsihi leaves the WRC) I doubt they will either.

I love the look of that interior also. But we are forgetting one thing... The Evolution is a four door "Family" car that can also perform. With that said, where will the baby seat go? I do not see any child seat anchor points in those seats. If they do end up going with this layout, the car will only be good for four adults. A child or anyone under the weight limit for the booster seat law will not be able to ride in this car. Like I first said, I love the way it looks, but it is not funtional as a "Family" sports car. I personally have a 18 month old daughter, my Lancer is my daily driver. I plan on purchasing my first Evo in the next two years, but if they make it so I can not safely drive my daughter around in it, I will have to pass on it, like nearly 2/3 of the other Evo owners with children.

That's my opinion!

L8R,
Shado

That's an excellent point. This car isn't practical in any way as far as passengers go. If this model makes it to production it will be produced in VERY limited numbers.
