Maybe I'll just wait for the X and keep my STi lol. Wonder what Subaru has in plans right now to compete with the X...one this is for sure, that shifter is gay.

I would say the regular X would start at what the current MR is, around $36k, but the X MR would probably go up to$40k. But what concern me is what the next engine would be, this 4G63 has been there for years, should it be time to upgrade? 300hp is the least for X, considering so many super sports car coming out within next three years.

I completely agree with you. I love my EVO but there are other sweet **** affordable cars coming out on the market. I have halted my modding and parts buying just to save up for my next car. Not sure if it will be an EVO10 or not.

What's with the dual exhaust? I wonder if its the V6 underneath the hood.

pros/cons cannot be said for what the initial public release will be as of yet because its a "concept" its not the actual final product . The seats will be more realistic I would beleive as well as paddle shifters as an option as well as 5/6 speed manual trans. There will be much redone for final release on a public end which every one knows.. and the final product will have its ups and downs but in the end every one will love it .. why cause its an evo and it will dominate competition

I think the dual exhaust has something to do with Fung Swey (however it is spelt)
I think it is just a cosmetic thing for the concept.
Only time will tell, and of course you know Japan and the UK will get them first so keep your eyes peeled.

I disagree. I'd love to see Mitsu keep those seats. They embody to me the best Evo attributes that are so much more than a "family" car hauling kids around in baby seats. I'm not saying those people all have to buy a mini-van, but there is any number of "sporty" cars on the market that they could have fun with. Maybe the base version of the Evo X could have traditional rear seats... but the hardcore version would look spectacular with these seats (albeit with a little padding). With a body that resembles the concept (especially the front), more power than the current gen, and an interior that is finally not a joke, I'd bet this car will attract many more buyers than any previous gen. produced. I think for every potential owner that needs a car to haul kids in a baby seat, there will be 10 new ones to take their place that either don't have a child to haul around, or have another car for that purpose, and want a car that looks (inside and out) racier than your typical family sedan. Inviting three (non-childseat) passengers for a ride in that car with those seats would knock most people's socks off... the oooh's and ahhhh's would be flowing.

I love this quote from Automobile.com prior to the Tokyo show...

New Mitsubishi Concept X to Wow Tokyo Showgoers

This is the car that will make Mitsubishis stand at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show buzz with action. This is the car that will lure in crowds like a moth to a bug-zapper. This is the car that will make children, teenagers and grown adults alike drool uncontrollably. This is the car that the rally world has long been waiting for, and will have fanatics lobbying Mitsubishi to build it. And now it is here - Mitsubishis Concept X - the preview to the next-generation Evolution X.
Yeah Baby !!!!

Buy a 9 then.

Its hard to give the car a complete face lift if you make it look liek all the other evos.

Good for you then. Without you buyers of previous gen Evo's, potential future buyers like me of a possible EVO X that looks like the Concept would propably be out of luck.. but if Mitsu wants to survive, and sell more than 5000 EVO's a year in the U.S., they need to keep all the good things they've done with the EVO (the powertrain, handling, braking, etc.) and jettison the econobox (i.e.. UGLY as S***) body and interior. Automobile mag named the EVO IX as one of the "six best cars on sale" period! But at the same time they said the interior was crap and the design looked like it was made for a 16 year old. Bet the vast majority out there thinks the same (as well as for the STI). While there will always be debate about the design direction of every new gen, with people of course critiquing every inch of a new look, just about anything they did would be an improvement.

Time for the EVO to truly evolve (in body, not soul) or the car as well as the company will only be a fond memory.

I think they should make the rear seats an option. Bench or race seats. That would allow each person to get exactly what they want. If they do a good job with this car, I will trade mine for a Evo X when its in the second year... but I can't do it with those rear seats. I gotta deal with kid issues.
