!!No 4G63=crap!!

The X will come with a standard 6spd manual transmission and the 4B11 engine will be more advanced and technology driven than the 4G63 could ever be. I swear, would you kids stop being so damn bias.

It wasn't easy to build the world's best, most bullet-proof, most easily and inexpensively modified 2.0 liter turbo motor. Just ask Subaru.
I may be wrong, but I bet it will be a long time before we see Evo Xs that can reliably run with GT35R turboed, built motored Evos.

Is this really from Mitsu? Would they release something like this with a typo as bad as "Devasting" (rather than 'devastating') in the sub-heading? Or would they use a relatively low-res image of the X that is already a year old?
Color me skeptical about the ad, not the car. I'm sure it'll be hot --- just pricey and untested.
My 2 cents.

Until I know all the details on it I'll reserve judgement- we still dont know how mod-friendly the engine will be if they arent going to use the 4g... how much whp and boost it can handle before the motor blows up... we also dont know if the new awd system will be superior or the handling better, even tho they say it will be... I say send it to HKS and see if they can get it to outperform their time attack carbon fiber evo 8!!! Or the cyber Evo team!!! you know it will take a year or two for the aftermarket to catch up and before we will know if it can out-perform the IX when properly tuned... Its too early to know, even if the car were available right now- let it come out and then let the aftermarket catch up and then put them head to head with the current Evo
It looks kind of "Americanized".... doesn't look bad to me, doesn't look like an Evo though!!
+1 on the loss of 4g63t, why switch? just develop new cylinder head for it with more goodies... GM's small block has proved that you don't need to be on the edge of new technology to have a great selling product. I'm not saying they have a great business plan to follow lol, but as far as the performance world goes I guarentee there's been more of their small blocks built than anything else, and you never hear someone complain about their motor, you know what you're getting, just like the 4g63

You guys are still missing the point here.. the 4g63 is pretty much maxed out as far as being a street legal engine.. sure you can mod it to hell and make power, but the new dodge caliber is going to be umm.. 300hp? How pathetic would it be to keep the glorified 4g63 because of its tuning potential when stock vs stock is slower then a 25K dodge? With the new engine technology.. maybe mitsu can push the evo to 400hp stock and street legal in a few years... It would never happen with the 4g63! Its not all about tuning.. and not everyone is running a GT35r for god sake.. for autox, 300whp is more then enough. Thats the kind of power all those esp guys were makign as they were winning national championships.. now just consider, the evo Xs handling will be far superior to that of the evo IX.. now add the fact that 300whp will be just a tune away... with no other mods to speak of.. hell maybe they will make 50 more whp with just a few bolt ons. Its not going to take them that long to design cams for the engine... anyway, just watch how dominant this car will be when released.
One of the worst parts about the evo is the horrible weight distribution..the new engine will help in this category.

Yeah. I starting ot like the looks more and more.
But even if its great and fast, I'm waiting for the second year of production, so hopefully all the bugs (if any) would be worked out.
why are so many people afraid of a new engine? when the viii made it state side, plenty of people said it was ugly, or cried that we didn't get the same version as japan or the uk. when the ix came out there was an outcry that adding mivec to the 4g63 was blasphemy. now here we are, evolving once again, and people are nitpicking and whining over the new engine, the new transmission, the new look.
any idiot can gripe. either add a logically sound argument backing up your opinion, or even better add a little optimism to your overly bleak outlook on life.
the evo x is going to be sold here in the states, it will have more horsepower stock, a faster transmission, a more advanced awd system, and i could go on. count me as one who's happy to have a company who's thinking forward rather than holding onto the past like three other car companies we're familiar with.
