why the hell would you want that? That car already exists.. its called a 335I.. you realize putting a inline 6 in this car would kill the handling and anything relating to its rally heritage correct?

think of the torque you will be generating on a mild turbo.

I can believe July 07 is a good estimate for the release date..Im little pissed we havent seen any pictures of this car yet. We saw a pretty much complete dodge challenger prototype way before that car will end up on the street.. and mitsu is give us less then a year?

That's something the suppliers would need to know (i.e. it determines delivery dates for the parts being supplied). If we assume it will arrive here later than in Japan, looks like I have to do one more autocross season on the ol' VIII. :-(

7/07? I doubt it, but if it does happen, we will not get it stateside till fall 2007. Mitsubishi is only gonna launch the non-evo lancer(s) here first, but they will keep the Evo X launch as a japan-first, than will get the car later in the year. It should be something like this, new lancer in spring, the ralliart model in summer and the Evo X in fall.

It wasn't easy to build the world's best, most bullet-proof, most easily and inexpensively modified 2.0 liter turbo motor. Just ask Subaru.
I may be wrong, but I bet it will be a long time before we see Evo Xs that can reliably run with GT35R turboed, built motored Evos.

IMO,
No manufacturer in their right mind will release a car that has an unreliable technology, even BMW and ROLLS have issues when they come out with new cars.
Just think, RIGHT NOW somewhere in Japan, in one Mitsu facilities the new power plant for EVO X is "burining in" day and night.
While we are spending time on these forums, working, auto-x'in, an army of Mitsu engineers work day and night to make sure that the new drivetrain and all new electronic gadgets, stand the test of times and agressive drivers once the car is released/
Just like with any other car like that, we will get it 6-12 months later (guessing here) and by that time, a huge inventory of parts from Japanese aftermarket companies will be available for EVO X.
It will take some time for local companies such as COBB, buchur, works, AMS, etc to catch up and develop their own parts.
Thats just a way it is
