It's currently under development and is known as "Project X" (ex). When they finalize the design and it makes it to production, it will then become the "Evolution X (ten)". This was the explanation at the North American International Car Show I was at on Saturday.

 

EvoX = Evo10
Evo 9 = Evo IX
Evo 8 = Evo VIII
Evo 7 = Evo VII
etc. Whats the difference???

still called the ten. just like every other evo since the (I-II-III-IV-V-VI-VII-VIII-IX)(1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9) guess mitsubishi just wanted to do their number system on the cars diffrent. who knows. but i still call it the number it is

im pretty sure its called the concept X, but everyone thats knows of the evo will call it the evo 10, but everyone else will call it the X. just like how only evo owners will call the evo 8 a evo 8 when it first came out, it was labeled and sold as just lancer evolution when it was released.

Judging from this thread? Was this not a valid question? Was I the only one hearing people call it the "EX" and wondering WTF? I am in FULL understanding that the X is a roman numeral- specifically for 10 which is next in the evo sequence. But when the car is out I was just wondering what people were going to call it.

i remember there was a review a while ago where the guy called it the eye - x and it pissed me off the whole time

 

aha of course x=10, and I would call it a TEN. I guess I've been the only one who's heard people reffer to it as the "X" pronounced "EX"- In fact I was at a mitsu dealer the other day and didn't hear a single person call it an evo "10" pronounced "TEN".
