07 GT-R > 07 Evo X
IMO, the GT-R is in a league of it's own. I mean, 3.8L TT v6 vs. 2.0L i4 is really no contest, it's like apples to oranges.
Also the new GT-R will not be badge as a skyline, it will be called the Nissan GT-R. Skyline will stay with the nameplate USDM G35 and the JDM 350GT.

What??? you mean the X with a bigger price tag (won't it??) compeating closer to a 3 series won't have all that??? damm!
got you 3000ways!
But comparisons will be drawn. The Evo has been compared to many a car with more displacment, more power and ultimately more cost. A stopwatch or radar gun does not care how many cylinders you have, who made it, or how much it cost. Both cars are about performance. So there is a contest.

GpTourer is right in that fact... They always compare the evo to a Porsche, how is that fair? But it is because of the evo's performance, it does its job really good. Also look at what the evo was made for Rally, I would love to see a skyline or a porsche keep up in the dirt and snow then go on the street a keep up with the best on the street as well.
You just negated your "point." The US G35 is not a GT-R and doesn't look like the GT-R prototype. None of us have seen what the production R35 GT-R will look like, so who's to say its gone downhill. I can tell a GTR from the other lesser models of the previous generations, especially the R34 and the cheaper models look cheap/bad not nearly as nice as a full on GT-R, and this new model seems as if it will be radically different from a G35, at least from the prototype. So why judge it based on what the G35 looks like? If you think the protoype is ugly, then thats different. But back on topic, The EVO X is great.
We have a bunch of R32 GTRs here, but I would take the IX instead. RHD cars are not bad to drive at all. The only bad part about it are left hand turns. I've driven my brother's 180SX plenty and it's pretty easy, just have to get use to sitting on the right side and that takes just a few days.
