"...The future Lancer Evolution X will also boast the next generation of Mitsubishi all-wheel drive - Super All Wheel Drive Control, along with the Active Centre Differential and Active Yaw Control systems from previous generations. Combined with Active Braking Control, Active Skid Control and Roll Control Suspension technologies - the Lancer Evolution X will feature one of the most comprehensive and advanced road-holding systems ever. Aluminium roof and body panels will further improve steering and handling to create a car that will be the very embodiment of "driving pleasure".
Prototype X is the final concept for the future Lancer Evolution X. While not all design features will make it to the production vehicle, 95% of the overall design and features will carry through. The Lancer Evolution X will make its global premiere on 11th September 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show..."

My buddies M3 (with SMG) will also downshift into 1st gear automatically if you stop the car. I've never driven a Ferrari, so I can't comment on their system.

GDB: That's my question exactly. Everyone keeps saying "DSG", but a DSG is a very different thing from an SMG. From everything I've read/heard from Mitsu, all they've said is "Automated Manual", which could be either one. Unfortunately, it's probably a straight up SMG like BMW's.

I drove a VW GTI with DSG. Absolutely fabulous !!! I hate automatic transmission but this is simply superb. A pity the traction on the GTI sucks !

Uh, oh. No you didn't.

We already had a multi-page thread on that "debate." IIRC, the terms are different, and it is a wing.

Missed this before. I'm glad someone else finally said it/noticed it. I thought the same thing in the other thread, I think 3000ways started, that shows IX and X shots comparing them form the same angles. The X looks very much like an Evo to me and brings along the roofline that to me makes the current Lancer so handsome.
