Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Well I certainly hope so. Hopefully it won't be something as silly as the Honda crowds "block gaurds". But in the end I gues it doesn't matter because my next new car is going to be that new camaro in V-8 form.
Unless Subaru has changed their stance on the STi it will only be available in hatch form. Which is why im here, im getting an X barring poor safety ratings. Lets hope it gets a 5 star. As far as the warranty is concerned, it doesn't matter that the Subaru's don't have the same terms, I've got 130k on my WRX and its very reliable. Never broke down or left me stranded on the side of the road. Only thing that I've had to replace were brakes and rotors. Unless it was a mod or course. My biggest concerns going to DSM and specifically the EVO were reliability/build quality and safety. The reliability is yet to be determined, and im willing to risk that. It appears the buld quality and safety issues have been addressed. Can't wait to see it in person.
Its not hard to get a big turbo mounted when the mani and turbo sit by the firewall....wtf are you idiots talking about? God forbid a car company should make a motor thats more efficient?!?! Have any of you seen the sidewinder manifolds that most K20 turbo setups use?? Not exactly rocket science.
Also K20 motors have aluminum blocks and there are a bunch of turbo k20's making 700+ on their aluminum blocks...granted they have iron sleeves....I dont know if the 4B11 does or not.

I just read a huge article in a Import mag that is saying the AMT wont take mods very well because there are all these little moduals that tell it so many things at once that by changing 1or the othere with an upgrade will effect it in a not so good manner but, There is always the manual.
power reading and gas mileage is read different now.. doubt the X make more than 300hp at the fly whl. stock. No doubt in my mind the X will never see 1000AWHP.. and your right it will attract different ppl.. maybe now you will ppl picking up chicks with this thing..
but still.. the X is ugly.. OVERRATED and hope that aluminum thing they have under the hood.. blows.. and come to think of it.. it wont be such a friendly car anymore having the turbo face the rear.. say bye bye.. 1 hour turbo swaps..

What's wrong with you?
Not everybody can afford to build a 1,000hp Evo and not everybody wants a 1,000hp Evo. I don't understand people like you that have this irrational hatred towards something new and different. Are you a Republican by any chance?

just kidding man hahaha
only time will tell, the only things i really wish for is a good new block design, not much more weight than the IX, and only available in manual tranny.
Didn't BBS just go through some financial problems? I thought there were some rumors floating around of them going bankrupt. Not a 100% positive on that one but I thought I heard something like that about 2-3 months ago....
I know that some of you will think I'm crazy, but I wish they offered the EVO X in a station wagon or 5 door hatchback model in the USA. It would be fabulous!
offers the EVO IX as a station wagon in Japan. It's way cool. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=107292
