This THREAD is WORTHLESS, period!
Edit: I am sorry, I read this yesterday and bit my tongue. Today you still have not posted what the answer is. Now people coming in to read the thread will have to scroll though several pages of crap just to get to your answer. That is if you ever have an answer.

Wow! Don't get too worked up Steve!!
Hey guys Im sorry I didnt think anyone would care. Im glad to see so many care about what's going to end up being the Evo X.
It's got swaybars. It was supposed to come with ARC. Active Roll Control.
Why the big deal? Because it was so effective it was banned in rally racing,I think WRC to be specific.
It also means the Evo would be lighter. Not by a huge amount, but a signifigant amount, probably 35-50lbs.
The Evo would have better ride quality, especially over bumps as spring rates effectively rise with swaybars.
How do I know? In a pic of the underneath of the rear, there is clearly a swaybar.
There's still hope, as maybe the ARC system will come in a future MR version.
Honestly though guys, I didnt realise there was so much traffic here, didnt mean to play games with you. Sorry.
I'll find a link to the specific pic,and provide the quote regarding ARC and the Evo X. I'll also find some info detailing ARC. Basically it's a system that diagonally connects the shocks together,so shock pressure rises instantly through displacement of the shock fluid.
OK here's a hyperlink to the thread containing the pics:

And here's the pic itself:

Here's the quote regarding the existence of the system on the prototype:

Article regarding RS4 with a form of ARC:

This is the system that I understood the Evo X to have. There are other versions of Active Roll Control, including Semi-Active roll control. Mitsu had a version of it in a Dakar Montero/Pajero. It was banned. Only mechanical systems with swaybars were legal from then on. The semi-active version uses swaybars in conjunction with actuators that couple and decouple swaybars and/or increase/decrease pressure in the shocks. At any rate I think an Evo would only be deserving to have the full-on active system-as high tech as an Evo should be.

Here's the quote regarding the existence of the system on the prototype:
Due in model year 2008, prototypes of the production Evo X have been running on test tracks in several locations as Mitsubishi engineers test such hardware as active steering, active brake control, active roll control and an updated all-wheel-drive system.
Article regarding RS4 with a form of ARC:
A non-electronic Dynamic Ride Control system interconnects the shock absorbers to keep body pitch and roll under control.

what the X should have to make it stand out?
personally, the Evo IX MR is the most desirable for now. The only thing that will make me look at the X is if it will match the power of the IS-F, new M3, etc. SMG is no use if it doesn't have 350+ hp with the 4B11T
discuss!
