Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Some people may like it. Some don't. Bottom line is the Evo X will be a huge success. Total improvements over the IX are just overwhelming; everything but performance is a firm step forward. Only the purist/hardcore driver should think of buying a IX right before the X-gen kicks in. I love my Evo to pieces but sometimes I grow tired of its crudeness. I need a more refined car, and the X gives me great vibrations. I think of it like a BMW M3 with the soul of an Evo. I guess I'm getting old.
The only one in that group that makes any sense is the G35. The ISF and M3 are going to cost considerably more money than the X. Performance wise they will be close I'm sure but, because of price they don't fall into the same category to me.

I have the evo IX already and considering trading up the IS for something. If the X outperforms all the cars that I mentioned then there will be a X in my driveway. Until then, I think I am looking at the IS-F to replace my 14,000 mile only IS300. price is not a consideration in this choice for me but performance.
You are making 2 assumptions:
1) The Prototype X show car (which is not necessarily one of the prototypes that have been running around the ‘Ring) has all the things on it that the Production car will have.
Besides,we've been told over and over that the most recent car shown at Detroit is pretty much the Evo we're getting, aside from some interior cosmetics, headlight and mirror changes. Look it up. No one knows for sure, but the Detroit car is the closest thing to production we've seen, and it's odd that it's missing a major feature.
2) The roll control system doesn't have "sway bar" end links.
Again you are assuming what type of roll control system Mitsu will use.
The company that Mitsubishi has a long history in the Dakar with, which is also the company that Citroen used for their WRC car, offers several versions of roll control systems. One of which still uses what look like sway bar end links - http://www.kinetic.au.com/rfs.html Of note in the pictures that we have all seen of the rear underside of the Proto X is that we can’t see the center section of the bars, therefore we can’t tell if they have an RFS style decoupler.
Your first link doesn’t specifically refer to the show car. Instead it references the prototypes that have been running around the test tracks.
Your second link, while interesting because of the subject, doesn’t necessarily apply to whether the Evo X will have roll control.
Here you discuss .......
Kinetix’s most advance system is still passive. If RFS was good enough for the all-conquering Citroen Xsara WRC car, I’m pretty sure it’s high tech enough for the Evo X.
Everyone seems to be looking for something to post about in this forum without having anything new to really discuss.

You have nothing new to discuss. You added absolutely nothing to this thread. Furthermore, you haven't posted anything new either, hypocrite. ARC was something no one else guessed about in 3 pages-defacto,you're wrong! Self-important,and whiney, that's about it.
I wouldnt be so annoyed by you if you PROVED me wrong,or added something, but I mentioned everything you referred to,all you did was google what I said.
Cliff Notes: If my thread bothered you and offended you so much,go somewhere else. You were the only ***** (sic) that flamed me in 3 pages, and that says something.

Ah ha, okay you earned all the points back that you lost for starting this thread the way you did.
I don't know if this was posted yet, but the rumors are true and that Mitsubishi will build a Lancer Ralliart that will be an entry-level Evo, kinda like how the Subaru WRX slots under the WRX STi.

won't it be nice if mitsubishi reads this so they will meet our goal of better than 350hp Evo X. as you know as of press time they have not release the numbers yet
I have to be honest, I am not to thrilled w/ the interior, especially that neon light that appears....just find it amusing that he says "touch of refinement" but after looking on the inside I dont believe its anywhere close to that.
On the flip side, I think this car will look good in person and am really excited that we get the Active Yaw Control...not to mention that Mitsu is probably looking to just put the STi in its place with this car (For all potential flamers I actually love Subies, I had a WRX and cheer for the SWRT) so its going to have a crap load of power. Whats even better from my POV is that they'll be able to use it in the World Rally Championship because its still a 2.0 liter engine.
w000ttt!
