Is this true? It sucks as well coz i still have to be charged $70 for hooking up their MUT Scanner.
I don't believe that. My audio controls and awc worked, just not the bluetooth.

I did the math of sh*ts and giggles and mitsubishiparts.net would save me $2.25 with shipping, LOL.

I will be ordering my kit from them non the less as I trust them as a vendor

I'm just about to get a GSR (the one positive about this economy is 0% financing), and Bluetooth is a requirement for me, so one way or another I'll be doing this. Like some others here, however, I'd like to keep the change holder and stick the AWC button next to the ASC button to the left of the steering wheel.

I've read this entire thread (it took quite a while), and it seems simple enough, but it'd be great if someone could post some photos with annotations about how they did the splicing to stick the button in that location. It's just not quite crystal clear how it'd be done.

I moved the button next to the asc button. I didn't take pictures, but you don't need pictures. Cut the harness that plugs into the center console AWC module, leaving 2 or 3 inches of wire on the plug end. Now you have a plug with 4 different color wires, and a harness with the same 4 colors ( you just cut) You can solder and heat shrink any 4 wires and match them to the same wires on the plug. I used 4 wire telephone cable. You can actually use crimp-type or Butts terminals if you don't want to mess with soldering and heat shrinking. Crimp type connectors are just fine, and in some cases superior to soldering. Just tape everything up to keep it neat.

When you did this I am assuming you also just moved the correct two wires to the correct two pins? Also did you have to take your steering wheel OFF in order to just add the Audio switch on the steering wheel, no bluetooth?

Sweet. A new octane blue GSR has been acquired!

Hopefully I'll get around to installing the new controls soon.

Yes, steering wheel has to be removed for just the audio controls only. But its a suprisingly simple job with the help of this thread and pictures.

Has anyone had a dealer move the audio controls to the steering wheel and move the AWC button to the center console?

If so did they have an idea already on how to do it, once you told them what you wanted? Or did you have to explain or provide them information about do it including how to change the center console wires for the AWC switch and audio controls on the steering wheel to work properly.

Thanks.

Installed today

Installed the Bluetooth module and Ipod connector, took about 4 hours. Toughest thing for me was moving the wires around. Had to study the connector and prod around a bit to figure out how to release the wires with damaging the plug. Only issue I had was forgetting to mark the steering wheel position before removing it, so when I put it back on I had to do a test drive to get it straight. Its great having the volume controls on the steering wheel. Now I just need to find the time to go to the dealer and get the Bluetooth module activated.

The photos and instructions were great, thanks again!!!
