HOW TO: Install Factory Bluetooth into Evo X GSR
I know this is an old post.
I just ordered all the parts I need and will be installing in a week or so when it all gets here. If anyone around South Louisiana also wants to do this, they are welcome to let me know, and I'll be happy to help out/ drink beer.

Can anyone who has this installed describe how this works without a Mitsubishi Navigation unit? I don't have the navigation unit, but would like bluetooth. I am specifically interested in how caller information displays, and when you try to call someone how you confirm it is going to call the right person.
Basically, I want to get an idea of how things display related to the bluetooth system without the navigation unit.
Thanks

+1 I have a GSR SSS w/o nav and am def going to install the radio controls and move the AWC switch and am on the fence about the BT. I'd love BT but would also like to understand how the setup works w/o a nav equipped car...
Installed everything today. It's AWESOME. I have an extra kit if someone wants it.
As for how the BT works without Nav, the system is almost completely Voice only. I have Nav and there is actually very little interaction with the actual head unit. You can do EVERYTHING with voice activation with the BT unit and controls.

So it doesn't display the name of the person? (assuming they are in your phonebook).
This is my largest complaint with most Bluetooth phone systems on cars. I don't have people's number memorized...that's why I have a phonebook on my phone.... From a design standpoint, this functionality is something so basic that I am not sure why few cars with bluetooth have it.
My Acura always just displayed the number, and it drove me nuts. I found I had to always check my phone to see who it was.
