The question should be worded "how could you buy the sti and live with yourself?" haha

There is nothing wrong IMHO with the way it looks its just not built as strong as the evo is.

Thanks for the response Sinister. Makes me feel even better about my decision. My opinion having owned both cars, is the Evo is more of a driver's car, less of its base Lancer than the STi is of its base WRX. Evo feels much more solid, nimble, and stable at higher speeds. Boxer engine has a unique sound, but I prefer the sound of the Evo.

No problem. I don't have a preference of one over the other. I bought the one that fit closer to the bill of the daily driver I was looking for. There are things about the Evo that I simply wouldn't want to deal with, starting with Mitsubishi themselves if something were to happen to the car. Secondly, I just couldn't pass up an awesome view over a hood scoop. It's just so reminiscent of an old Mopar Muscle Car that I'd have to have it. If I had purchased an Evo, one way or another, a hood scoop would've found its way on to it. Not to mention, I just love the Boxer rumble. The Evo doesn't sound bad, but it surely doesn't sound like a Boxer.

From the photos that you provided of your previous STi and your Evo, I have to say that the STi takes the cake in the looks department. That doesn't mean your Evo looks bad by any means, but the STi just looks beast. Maybe it's the lowered stance, or the angle the photo was taken at, but it just looked so bad-*** in that photo. If I were just some guy out to buy a car and had no idea what an STi or an Evo was, that photo of that STi would've sealed the deal right on the spot. I wouldn't have even tested an Evo.

Honestly in my area, I see 4-5 STis for every Evo. Maybe it's because Washington people love the Subarus but I just wanted to be different. Hell I see more Porsche 911s than Evos. I have yet to run into an Evo driver while driving mine, it's kind of sad.

The STi guys in my area are very cool. Most of them wave and I wave back. Whether it's a STi or Evo, we're both AWD turbo cars that would kick the sh&t out of most cars on the road today.

Oh, and Sinister still smells like poo.

Most of the STi guys I've met out here never want to go out and cruise or anything. Most of them also seem to have chips on their shoulders.

Anytime I see an Evo or an STi I usually get a wave or a flash of the bright lights.

Some Evo owners smell like poo.

That's 'cause you're smelling Evo exhaust, buddy. Speed up Jp. Most STi drivers around here usually try to race or whatever, but a few have been cool and waved.

I've never had an Evo pull up directly alongside of me at a light...ever. I've had 1 or two STis and a WRX, but never an Evo. When I do run into one on the road, regardless whether it's an Evo, WRX, or an STi/STI, they never instigate a race.

R32s and Neons (Oh, my fault, they're not Neons! They're SRT-4s!) are probably the worst. Every single one on the same side of the road has tried to race me, whether it's in the middle of stop/go traffic (no, I'm not exaggerating) or on an empty highway. Some of these losers even pull U-Turns just to race!

I pull alongside STis and Evos whenever the opportunity arises to just wave and say hey. Some douche bag STi driver smirk and proceed to rev and race some ghost racer I can't seem to ever see but most have been cool. Maybe it's because most of the STi guys seem to be guys in their 30s or up.

One SRT-4 decided to turn right in front of me yesterday morning while some STi guy revved at me going in the opposite direction. It was some fat dude sporting his awesome Oakleys while there was some fog still present. At first I thought it was sinister but I didn't smell any poo so that cleared things up for me.

What is it with the "poo" thing? Maybe you didn't continuously kiss my *** you wouldn't smell "poo?"

Anyway, I'm the douche bag that smirked at you. I smirked at you because I knew it was you.

Anyway, that seems par for the course.....always a ghost racer. I was just thinking about that today as I was travelling down I-270S paired up with a GSR VIII. No ghost-racing, no asshattery, no dodging in and out of traffic, no nothing.....just travelling down the highway at a good clip with the traffic.

^ It's always nice when you can just roll with your fellow FI AWD owner just enjoying each other's company. So no douche bagging eh? Must've been nice.
