Why didn't you buy the STI?
Quit making fun of honda's, my s2k kicks butt top up or down! My favorite mechanic runs an almost all suby performance shop with Evo's here and there... and he STILL can't get over how well the s2000 is built and the attention to detail that went into it. From the factory coilovers, tubular frame (sp?), killer shifter, and fully built motor from the factory.
Many a tuner has taken the f20c motor apart thinking to replace the rods, pistons, etc to find that unless they want to put in a stroker kit there is nothing to do but a thicker headgasket to lower compression before going FI.
So bash civics if you must, but don't just say Honda cause the s2k might be one of the best built cars around... Except for the diff, that thing is weak.

I've driven S2000s a few times, and while they handled very well, I just didn't quite get anything else out of it.
I origionally wanted a used 04/05 STI, but just had such a hard time finding one, I ended up getting an 06 Evo IX. lol. The 06 STI's were simply more expensive than the Evo and looked insanely ugly, IMO. Also, The STI looks alot harder to work on under the hood. Too cramped for me. Only thing I like about the STI is the dash is much nicer, 2.5L, and the way they sound. Other than that.. ehh. Blue interior FTL.
I drove Leh's Sty and it was pretty nifty. I was impressed.
I like them both. If you like to wrench on cars, the 4G is a very straight forward and well documented set-up. If you want to leave it near-stock..the STy is not a bad choice, either.
We're installing a 35R kit on an STi right now. I will never....never work on one of these again. Great cars if you leave them near stock, but after that, you'd be better off paying someone to do your slave labor because it's hard money saved (as far as under the hood...I would assume that the driveline would be a little easier to access in the STi).
It's like Chess under the hood. Everything is overlapped beyond belief. Someone commented that it would be smarter to just save up all of your mods up and then pull the engine to install everything at once! It is now making sense.

The most fun part of working on an STi/STI is changing the plugs/wires.

Some reasons I went with an Evo:
- Never had experience with the STi's different engine design (Flat 4)
- It seems like there are a lot more options when it comes to modding the Evo.
- The Evo's Easier to work on
- Handling felt A LOT better on the Evo
- WORKS is 5 minutes from my house
I must say though, the STi feels soooooo much torquier when compared stock for stock to an Evo

I got a spin in Cletus323's stock IX MR and it pulled like a freakin' freight-train down low. It really surprised the Hell outta me.

BTW, i've driven and been in plenty of Evo 9's and to be honest, NO they don't seem to have the torque the STi's have. Just my opinion though...

My friend can drive very well but those FWD cars with power just cannot slice and dice. After this assault......he traded in the SRT for an EVO!!!! LOL
One thing I do when those FWD cars start $hit and won't leave me alone is I just take a curvy road. They follow me thinking they can do the ricer fly by but oh wait, there's a turn. Their headlights keep falling further and further behind. I have to admit one time the douchebaggery got too bad so I left the guy and stopped in the middle of a curve. Guy came flying around and saw my lights and slammed on his brakes. I left when I saw him skidding off the road into the grass towards a tree. Mean? Yes, but that's the punishment for douche bagging.
