I hope the Evo XI isn't a hybrid. I don't think I would ever consider buying it, no matter what the performance side of it looks like.

What I'm really hoping is that they just update the Evo X like they did with the 8-->9.

I wonder if they're going to offer the leather again for GSR's, or if it's going to solely be on MR Touring models. I kinda hope they add another package like they did with the 8/9's that has the leather and sunroof. I don't really want the sunroof though, lol. Maybe they'll make it an option for the SSS package.

Ahh, wishes, wishes.

Yuck a hybrid evo? Looks like when the time comes i'll be buying a IX or X then.

I could totally see a Lancer being hybrid, other brands of cars in it's class have hybrids. However making an evo a hybrid I feel would stray to far away from it's heritage. (Yes, I know the name is Evolution, but it should not evolve into a hybrid)

Fixed that for you.

In which case they should call it a Lancer Devolution

i dont care if its electric as long as she makes power. If she can be built to lay down 600 horses and run a 9sec quarter then bring on the change. Way to many haters out there.

I think it's because nobody is expecting it to have that much power. But i agree, if they can do it without sacrificing HP I don't see a problem with it

I think they need to leave the EVO alone. just look at what happened to the eclipse. why not use a different platform altogether

I wonder if Mitsu dropping out of the WRC has anything to do with changing the powertrain? No real requirement for a 2.0 anymore? If that's the case, they should just design an efficient 3 liter TT like BMW did instead of the most inefficient 4 cylinder on earth.

hey twab, I agree mitsu f'd up the eclipse when they dropped the trim lines at the end of 99. Not to say I didn't like my 3g, but it was never going to surpass the 400hp I had built her to.

With that said the last 10 years has brought on some radical changes in tech. Look at the new Tesla Roadster http://www.teslamotors.com/performance/perf_specs.php
sure its not an evo but what I'm saying is the tech is there. If mitsu were to do it properly (and you can bet your bottom dollar that they will on an evo) then a hybrid evo could have a lot of potential.

Ya, the technology is definitely there, there's no debating that. It's less about IF they can do it, than it is SHOULD they do it

Yeah, I think they will ruin it if it becomes a hybrid.
