don't forget the VOrtex Generator, better oil cooler, blacked out headlights and taillights full carbon rear wing..

The April 19th, 2004 Autoweek also has the same blurb from the website on Page 4. It's coming this fall.

..jingle bells.. Gonna be four wheel driving in a winter wonder land... in the meadow we can do some donuts.. and pretend we're in the double you are see. We'll say are we having fun yet... And blow by all the stuck in muck rides..

Don't cop an attitude because you're too ****ing poor now buying the evo instead of waiting for something new. There's always going to be something bigger and better, and now you're cranky because you can't have one.

sure u do
Eat a dick nerd. Is it that hard to write, "You" instead of "U"?

I DO go to the track because I live 4 miles away from it. I'm highly active in anything to do with cars up here. Screw you for judging me.

Don't be bitter because you can't afford one.

batty - you can't get and MR, and so you don't want one, so what's your point in this thread? And if there is valid point; Can you tell us what track times you have run and in what ride?

Is there a good reason behind why you aren't able to see the significant differences between the heavy Evo and the MR, or understand how noticable the difference are in many different situations, not just on a track at 10/10ths?

Dont have a point in this thread didnt know i needed one. To me its a EVO with some upgrades. Its a cool car but talk about hyped up. Just too me its funny i bet like 2 to 3 years ago the same people that are hyped about the MR were doing the samethign with the EVo and still dont have one. I see the differences but nothing to get my panties wet. Now if it was a new engine and it had Super AYC i would be all over it. But it doesnt. I just feel like people come on to post how awesome and better it is and dont even have a EVO. Wheres their comparsion? Just not a big deal to me thats all.

A lot of you folks need to settle down and behave.

For all you folks that currently own an Evolution, you may be miffed that something newer with some improvements may very well be coming down the pike, but consider that you are the early adopter. Yes, you don't get the cool new stuff, but really, by the time the MR hits the streets some of you folks will have had the Evolution for 2 years and change. You've been able to enjoy your car day in and out for 2 years. I think that's a huge benefit in itself, that can't be measured in things such as aluminum roofs and extra transmission gears.

And heck, I'm happy that the MR might be coming. I didn't jump on the Evolution originally because I always wait and see. I waited on my truck, I waited on the Eclipse, and I did the same for the Evolution (that and I wasn't plain ready to ditch the Eclipse yet). The MR is coming out just before my lease is up, and it's going to be the cheapest car on my shopping list. A car that I might be able to pocket for $30K that can match or top the S2000, 350Z Track, S60 R, SRT-6, M3, or S4 for $3000 to $17000 less is good news to me.

batty needs some time off from EVOM
I can see that the arrival of the MR is getting to him big time
He says it doesn't matter to him but he keeps on posting all this negatively in what is suppose to be a positive thread
Since the MR has it's own forum now just don't look at the top to click the link to enter the MR world
Problem solved

hey guys, do you think the MR will come in white also? I know that in Japan it comes in white as well as the grey and red. I know that little details such as colors aren't confirmed, but don't yall think that they would go ahead and bring the same colors they offer in Japan?

Mister Spoot, you did what I should have and am doing this time. I rushed into cars and got burned by the first year with much better models showing up shortly after. This time I nearly rushed into an STi becuase on *paper* it had so much more. Heck after driving my brothers and a friends Evo I was so excited about getting into an STi becuase it *was going to be* better.. it had becuase on paper it had more, right? DCCED, 2.5L more hp, more torque 6 speed, etc. Then I drove it.. what's up with these seats, why does it feel so.. every day. soft.. it feels nearly normally aspirated, very vey little lag, good pull.. but something is missing. well I had to get my deposit back and was going to head across the highay and haggle for an Evo, but got pulled away and 2 days later started a 2 week out of town trip that gave me time to come out of the clouds and remember the rushing into prevous purchases. This time I said, let's see what goodies they bring out to entice folks to come around next year.. It's happened nearly every time in the past, and this time the writing has been in all the mags for quite some time.. I've really enjoyed this wait.. If only I'd waited a year longer on the MR2T - so many changes in 93.. and the slocus.. SVT.. Tribute.. minor things.. oh well, all are still great fun, and will continue to be next to the MR..

Like someone else said, there will always be something better coming... you might not buy the MR because they will announce Evo 9 shortly after and it will be better, maybe have bigger displacement, more hp more tq, better springs this and that...
It's like buying a computer, you buy the fastest one out there with fastest gfx card and few months later it's not the fastest anymore.
Pointless.
You should learn to enjoy what's here and not try to live in future.
By the way, the rumor is that new 2005 STi will get sharper steering too, better suspension, wider read fender and maybe wider tires and some-subaru AYC. With the 2.5 engine, maybe it will perform better than the MR. What then? you will wait for Evo 9 to be able to beat the Subaru?
20 goto 10
Some of us saw what MR offers and it's going to be a nice car however not worth waiting or trading in once (or if) it gets here.
By the time I might as well wait some more and get the Skyline GT-R... think about it. Maybe you need to save the money now so you can afford that?
I have a different philisophy - drive Evo now and by the time Skyline or the next best thing comes out buy that and have my Evo paid off already.
And I keep enjoying.
Before I started reading this thread I thought you are one of the folks that owns an Evo because you're here since Jesus walked earth

I kinda doubt there's going to be an Evo 9...

Mitsu is releasing the new Eclipse...Same engine near same hp/tq #'s...It'd be pointless to have nearly two of the same cars out at the same time. Just my .02.

I dunno...that's an interesting thought, no? I see that a lot of people are posting that dealers are having trouble moving the EVO's they have on their lots. In CA the dealers can't get enough of them, seriously, they are selling tons. Although they are selling for a lot less than when I bought mine last March, but selling like crazy all the same. In the area where I live, just an average neighborhood in West LA, there are more than 10 in a 2 mile radius!! there are 5 of us in a 3 block radius!! At our SoCalEvo monthly meets we get between 50 and 70 EVO's, mostly from LA and Orange County, and WELL over 100 different EVO's have shown (some people miss certain events etc etc..). Point is, I doubt Mitsu would have brought the EVO over to the states if it were only a short term plan. Manufacturers typically think in the long term, and I would assume that Mitsu might thinking the same. Especially with their recent troubles, I think they need as much brand recognition as possible, as well as repeat customers. But, then again, this has just been our experience out west. Just a note: Our sister NorCalEvo gets close to 50 cars at their events too (could be more I haven't checked in awhile).
