Hey for those that know Andy I didn't mean any disrespect towards him and his abilities. All I was trying to say is that a tune can make a huge difference. I know this first hand. My tuner has done some crazy stuff with tuning my car; I thought couldn't be done. Just look at my sig.

I had a similar issue where I thought my dyno numbers fell short. The tuner did a GREAT job with working my previously messed with knock filter in the ECU (A previous tuner retarded it slightly) The car was not pulling timing since it was not picking up the knock but the tuner and I called it quits since I did want to drive the car home. I have all the mods listed in my post and was only able to produce 453WHP on about 27-28psi. I do however have a stock clutch but I am totally lost as to why I am not making the numbers. I thought the clutch had something to do with it but it does not seem to be slipping at all. Plus I hardly abuse the car.

I think that this turbo just produces less than the claimed number. I've yet to see any parts or tune combination using this turbo produce big numbers.

what kind of numbers are you looking for, dynojet, md?

this turbo is proven to run 10's so what more do you want?

I don't think so. My buddies 05 put down 450awhp.

EXHAUST:
3" DC Downpipe (no cat)
3" Helix Catback
Ported/Coated Stock manifold
Ported/Coated SS 02 housing (with custom dump)
Ported/Coated Turbine Housing

INTAKE/TURBO:
Tial BOV
Helix Intake
FP Green Turbocharger
Buschur Racing "RACE" FMIC
Buschur Racing "RACE" LICP
Buschur Racing Deluxe UICP

ENGINE:
HKS 272/272 Cams
Hallman Pro MBC (Mirror Black)
Snow Performance Methanol Injection
ECU Flash Tuned by Sean Ivey

FUEL:
Walboro 255HP Pump
FIC 750cc Injectors

I believe he is running 31-30psi on 100% meth and the Car pulls like a raped ape with stock like spool. Very Very Very hard car to beat on the street!

this emphasizes his point.. that's a lot of boost. and meth...

How much can the stock turbo make with those boost levels and meth? I'm betting at 30psi that it will be very close.

TDo5HR, are you freaking kidding me?

The turbo has put down unbelievable numbers and run in the 10's at 130 mph, all with a turbo that spools like stock.

Get real.

Define big numbers.

On a Mustang Dyno, that supposedly puts out similar numbers to Speed Element's DD, I put down 333whp on 91 @ 21psi. Many EvoGreens are putting down between 320-325whp. For this particular car's set up, things seem low. The question is why? I don't think it's the tune, Andy has tuned a few EvoGreens, and without anyone taking a look at the person's flash, they really can't comment.

You did a compression check...now do a leak down and find out if the head has any problems....

All this talk on here just adds to your problems...you cant diagnosis a problem on the internet. Cover you basis first. Do the basic engine checks like compression test, a leak down test. The head can crack, warp, distort, etc. I have seen cars run with broken piston rings which resulted in similar results as yours.

Exactly. This entire thread is basically asking for problems. It would have been much better to figure things out with Andy (or whomever you wanted) than come on here asking for armchair mechanic's and tuner's advice.

Let me restate what I've already said, since people do not appear to be reading the entire thread.

1. The output of this car is not normal.

2. It made 271 whp since this was 50 whp below my average I turned down the boost making 250 whp so the car could be safe to drive until the car was fixed.

3. Speed Element did not install any of these parts on this vehicle

4. The average output of the 5 to 6, EVO9's and EVO8's equipped with the Green I've tuned is 320 whp.

5. Compression check was performed approx. 140-150 psi on all four cylinders. EVO9 has a different specification for compression tests than EVO 8, 140-150 psi is within factory specs for an EVO 9.

6. Car was tuned below the stock knock sensor threshold and progressively gained timing throught the power band. 270 and 250 whp was as high as the hp would go without timing retard.

7. Customer was charged $150 total for 5 hours of combined dyno time and diagnostics.

And again for those whom think I started tuning yesterday... My Tuning credits...

10 sec all motor methanol honda
Multiple 10 sec SFWD honda
10 sec stock bottom end GT35R EVO9
Multiple 11 sec EVO8's and EVO9's
Countless 300 whp 91 octane stock turbo EVO8's and EVO9's.

As for what's wrong with this car I'm not sure, but whatever is wrong with it, I feel I have more than given my customer a good deal for the services I provided vs the price I charged.

For any naysayers... I only hope that if you ever have problems on the dyno, your tuner would be as generous as I am, since normally whether or not your car makes power people expect to be paid for all their time which is $150 per hour. The dyno is an extremely expensive place to diagnose basic problems on a car. It is not my obligation to fix this car or give a discount, especially when we did not install any of the parts. I did so because I would like to believe that I am a nice guy. I am in this industry because it is my passion and not because I am looking to make a million dollars.

11.0:1 AFR... I would try 11.5 and pull back the timing where it knocks.

Tuning the car near 11.0 is one of my tuning criteria for 91 oct. If someone wants their car tuned to some lean AFR on 91 oct. they can take their car somewhere else, as the 100+ custom tuned cars I've tuned on 91 oct. have no problem making power with an 11.0 and under AFR.

Our car stock motor 10 sec GT35R EVO9 runs an 11.5 AFR on 109 oct... An EVO does not need to run lean to make power.

I can stay that that is a great deal for diag and tune. I had an issue on the dyno, couldnt be readily fixed, and only got 30 mins of actual dyno time. The bill? $250 Yeah, I wasnt happy That I had to pay it, but what can you do now.
