Missed this post somehow, anyways I wanted to have the exhaust ready to just bolt on as soon as I got everything together this way I could start tuning right away with the wideband. I have the equipment to tow it myself so thats what I did just towed it with my dodge but of course you all know how that turned out Hopefully tonight after I get off work I can start tearing into it so I can get my studs installed, I want those in by monday then time to tear out the tranny

Alright so the head is off I am getting ready to clean up all the surfaces and install the studs, I figure I will install my 440s while the head is off to since I pulled it with the intake mani attached. I also installed my T fittings for my coolant lines, I have been taking pictures through various stages of disassembly I will post when I get time.

Going in this weekend so this week I HAVE to get the clutch and studs etc. in. BTW any of you manual lancers pull your engine without the trans? not sure if there will be enough clearance but it will save me about 6 hours or more of labor if I can pull the engine to get to the clutch since all I have to do is unbolt the ac pump and bell housing bolts.

trans will come out np. i think it took my friend and i 3 hrs tops for out/install/and back in.

id say pull the trans and then the engine for more room. less hassle imo, if yur already in there and pulling everything.

Thanks josh I attempted to pull the engine without pulling the trans and I can officially say it cannot be done on a manual, auto sure I have done it but manual there just isnt enough room I had to unbolt the pressure plate and the ac pump bracket before it would finally clear. Good news my engine is on the ground, bad news I am still going to have to pull the trans I realllllllllly did not want to do that but I will reinstall them as one unit to make things go in smoother. Now I can pull the pan without issue which makes up for it a little. So tomorrow my flywheel comes off and gonna shave it down a little and resurface it then install my stage 2 clutch

I started the intake manifold port match mod I found on this site and is working good so far but damn is it loud so dont feel like pissing off the neighbors lol. I am gonna post some pics of my progress tonight here in a few

alternator pulled

tees for the turbo coolant lines

under the valve cover looks pretty clean to me

right after I pulled the head, pistons look good just normal carbon buildup

After a couple hours of cleaning looks pretty good although I should have pulled
up the other 2 pistons and cleaned them too, all the dark splatters around the engine bay are from me blowing out the oil in the stud holes

studs are in woohoo

little dirty under here but it will clean up nice

old head bolts

getting ready to clean the head surface

much better now

head reinstalled with the studs, notice anything missing that was there before?

yup the damn intake manifold was in the way when I went to install the head with the studs so I had to pull it so I figured it would be a good time to install the 440s and port match

out with the old, in with the new

as far as I got with the port match before deciding I didnt want the cops here because of the noise lol

stock flywheel

after getting it back from resurfacing it, much better now

It looks really good comgrats man, for your 440cc injectors did you you have to purchase a new manifold to fit those, or will the stock fuel rail work with 440cc injectors? and do I need to do any modifications to the fuel rail in order to make the fuel flow properly through the injectors, like making the holes on the end bigger?
