so Steven was nice enough to give me a MBC but I don't want to run it just yet. I want to run at 5 PSI for now.
Can I run at 5 PSI with the MBC on??
If I go without the MBC, can I hook up the wastegate hose to the J-pipe nipple or where do you guys have it connected??

love to see new ppl going turbo... btw i got bunch of things for sale from my old garrett t25 setup... like the one they have on turbokits.com i have a small itercooler and all that good stuff.. let me know if ur interested and got any questions
use the wastegate first, you will boost to 4 pounds at the most because the wastegate, if you tighten the wastegate and stretch it to the turbo you can run more pounds but the most you will get out the spring is 9 pounds it takes away one for some reason not sure.
At wastegate levels I was around 4 because I didnt put so much load on it, and when i attached the MBC I jumped to 12 and boost creeped to 15.5 "depends on which gear you accelerate from
2nd gear
"
then I tightened it down a little bit more and got 17 out of it.
Stich with wastegate first and work your way up, since roadspike did my tuning pretty much I just worked with what he gave me and it turned out pretty good, but im thinking about running the evo 8 rom since it flashes on there and im having starting issues with my car leaning out

can someone explain the difference between vaccuum and boost please. I have a gauge that reads vaccuum and another that reads boost, what is the difference between the two??
Vacuum is what every car is at 99% of the time. Boost mean positive pressure which can only be acheived through forced induction aka turbo or supercharger. If you NA the best you can do is 0 psi lol. Vacuum is created by the engine sucking in air while the piston is traveling down and the throttle plate only allows so much air causing a vaccum. When a turbo'd or super charged car begins forcing air into the chambers this compunds into pressurized air known as boost
exactly another easy way to think about it is turbo gives your car a boost in power the more air and fuel you have the more power you can create

I bought a laptop so I can tune and so that I can have the net while my desktop gets fixed but I'm a bit confused. Do I use mitsulogger or evoscan to log, or both? I want to start logging before I put the turbo on.
You can use either however most conversations will revolve around evoscan so its easier on the average user to get it. Mitsulogger requires some setup an ecuflash knowledge before hand to be useful.
