it still smokes at warm up but not while cruising. Once it warms up it doesn't smoke while driving.

 

Youre positive its not condensation evaporating?

the stupid radiator is gone. The car started overheating today to the 3/4th line. Check the fluid and it was low, with some at the bottom of the radiator.

Upgrade time!!!!!

Don't have much money but I was thinking either an Evo 8 radiator or an Evo 4/5/6 radiator. Suggestions on radiator and tranny oil cooler.

 

Damn. I'm interested in seeing what route you take. I was thinking about upgrading but the tranny cooler would be an issue. Placement also.

 

mitsukid did it but he never posted pics. I can't remember which radiator he was running.

 

I love my evo 5 radiator but I have manual so tranny cooler wasn't an issue.

I went cheap ebay special :-). About $160 or so and has worked awesome. Fins are cheap and flimsy but I dont care its been working great. Why not just get a remote mounted trans cooler?

 

a what?? I was thinking of just getting a cooler and putting it behind the front bumper like 02-lancer.

Just bought the tranny cooler you put up 03lance. Just trying to figure out the radiator now.

 

On the smoking when warming up sounds like valve seals / valve guides . Maybe even warn rings ! Does it also smoke after an oil change ?
