Did you ever get the o2 sensor extension and if so which one?
As for the timing, even if the voltage is below 1 the computer will still take it as knock. Trying taking one degree back and if that doesn't work maybe its slightly too lean. Never hurts to try that. I didn't take a look at your log so I'm not sure what AFRs you are at.

Well in boost the AFRs are at 11's. So IDK... I messed with the map some more and Im going to do some more logs soon. Ill see what happens.
It would really help if some one can look at those logs though.
I did get the O2 extender but it wasnt the right one. I dont know if they have the right one for us. Look at their selection and see if you can find one for us.

Hey man, sorry it took me ages to take a look. I compared your logs against my ROM, and you are running about 1-2 degrees more of timing in all of the spots where there is knock. You're actually running some pretty advanced timing at cruise compared to mine as well. The EGT's might be reduced and you could get better gas mileage if it matched up closer to the stock rom. PM me your email, and I can mail you my latest ROM for comparison. Obviously you can't flash it since it's for speed density, but you can view the timing tables.

Update: well as you can see I've been talking to hornstar. And I'm kinda seeing where he was saying that my timing is aggressive. I dropped it a few degrees last night and did some logs this morning and got it up to 140 Ecu load! And 11 counts of knock!/sarcasm.
So as I edited to lighten knock at that load it became more apparent that the other loads are still a little aggressive. Then I went back to compare to my low octane ignition map and holy *****! Some of those values were higher than my high octane maps!
So I went back and retarded those around 3 degrees around loads. I know its not good to rely on the ecu to pull timing for you but I want to have that leeway when crazy stuff starts going on.
So on my lunch break I ended up retarding and smoothing quite a bit on the high and low maps...until my battery started to die and I had to wrap it up. I was having fun, didn't want to stop...
It still doesn't like my 90 loads though. So I have to get more data on that.
Question though: about how much timing gone is too much; as to where somebody could be in trouble of melting pistons?
Also what's the average knock voltage? If I have 1 counts around .60 is that to be considered?
And during the best tunes that you guys have are you guys not seeing ANY counts of knock at all besides a few bumps here and there?

Cant remember, do you have an egt gauge Green Bandit? I have had my egts up to 1600-1650 on some highway pulls with no issues, plugs still look great and car still boosts great. When I was experimenting with my low load off boost timing I had it pretty low at times where my low end power was almost non existent and my egt's were still within acceptible limits.
IIRC on the voltage I was told anything below 1v is pretty safe to consider false knock. 1v-2v is more of a judgment call. I would look at knock in that voltage level as whether or not I could consisently get the same counts in the same rpm/load ranges run after run. above 2v is probably real knock and should be treated as such until you can remove it or rule it out as real knock. I used this to adjust my knock settings in my rom and I am happy with the results.
As far as 0 knock for me? not a chance lol. I still get some random fast and slow flashes now and then however they do not happen always and are not consistently in the same areas. On top of that all I have to do is back off the gas for about a 1/2 second then hit it again and the flash is gone so I know im good. My engine is probably a little dirtier in there than I would like to admit lol.

I'm using lancer knock settings, and starting to think I might be better off trying the evo values. I get some knock right around 2250 RPM basically throughout the load range up from 40 all the way to like 90, pretty much regardless of timing. Above that and below it I don't really see much knocksum counts.
At WOT, I don't see much knock, maybe a count here or there, and I'm running something like 3 degrees of timing at peak torque. I do see sick *** knock when i shift fast though. If I let it slow, and then slowly put her in gear, no shift knock.

Ill check out the evolution settings to see how that goes. I think for now I'm about dialled in. Im seeing 1's maybe some 2's but majority of them are under 1.0 kv.
But the tune is coming along still. I got a little better open loop afrs going.
On a worse note under some heavy throttle I was getting what felt like a misfire so I pulled of the valve cover and plug number 3 was coated in oil! So I swapped out the plug gasket with an extra one I had and changed the plug. Turned it over and let that excess oil burn off. Im still getting a little misfire so I'm just going to replace all plugs and gaskets there. Its about that time anyway.

Guys I know scowering logs for someone elses tune probly isnt the most fun thing to do in the world but I know Im close. I can usually go around 70 tps to about 5k rpm without my knock light spazzing out on me.
All Im asking is for a little more patience.
In the log wheres the boost. I think some how I hit 6 psi but didnt really feel it moving. Not much knock at all which Im happy about. But the lack of acceleration had me expecting more
In whats up here, Im seeing lower amounts of knock but higher counts. On top of that a lot of it is under 1 volt. How would you interpret that?
Also check out cell 38 at the 118 load at 4656k and compare that to the log again at cell 117 119 load at 4656k. I interpret that as real knock but looking at my timing map should I really pull 2 more degrees of timing?
No, no egt gauge for me. Ive been trying to be more cautious in pulling timing and observing multiple logs before I make big change in timing. I think Im ant a point now where I dont want to pull any more. The "odd one" log has me thrown for a loop. Im trying to interpereete that
I still havent gone to the evo settings yet. As silly as it may sound Im having some trouble finding the stock Evo ROM. At three degrees Im looking at about 4750 RPM at 120 load. My thing is Im starting to wonder if I pulled a little too much. When its tacking up I kind of feel like its not going as fast as it should. The boost is building, the fuel is there, just kind of feels...idk. With the last kit I had I was defiantly moving around that point

What PSI are you seeing, that 6 all the time? or was that the highest you've ever seen? Basically though, you might have pulled too much at WOT, but your 100-120 looks decent...above that it might be too much. I need to get on my other PC later tonight, so I can view the logs, cause I am on my little mac.
EDIT* Oh, and your timing drops off too hard at like 120 load or whatever. Also, get more resolution in that thing, you need to go 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, etc...not 100, 120, 140, because you are going to want to fine tune there.
Double Edit* I reviewed the logs, and I do see why your timing drops so suddenly. What boost are you at in those logs? That first one was like, so weird as the load increased outward, mine go up from like 120 load to 135 or so, yours are more like 80-115 or whatever, a bigger range. If you are WOT at like 6psi, then your timing in those logs is fine, right in line with mine, but if you're only just hitting boost, then your timing is too low and there is something making your knock sensor go ape spit. Are you 100% sure nothing is knocking around in there, the exhaust or what?

That 6 was the highest I've seen so far. I don't know how it got there considering I have the 5-10 spring. But as far as getting more resolution before 120, that's how my rom came. How do I edit more resolution?*
*Edit: Wait dumb question. I thought there was a more complicated process than that.
