Low octane is for knock. Some people just copy the high but if it knocks the ecu refers to the low octane map.

I assume thats false. Im looking to see if the voltage is under 1 and how many counts. Please someone correct me if Im wrong but I take it the sensor is going to hear knock at all kinds of levels just from road noise. Thats why there are 1's and 2's. But no timing pulled. But when it sees 3+ it pulls a degree of timing.

thats what i think but someone else should chime in.

at idle it is still puming i changed some of the iscv values up and down no difference. but it doesnt pum when the ac is on and also those values in the ac on table are significantly lower then with it off.

About knock, its not the measurement of knock voltage that should tell you, its spikes in it. Knock base and ADC are the real indicators.

Remember this...cruise and idle knock are less acurate indicators. Wot knock is probably right. The idle pum thing, you are on the same rom as me right? What airflowhz do you see at idle with ac on or off.

too little timing, too much timing, too rich, and too lean...can all cause knock, so if you retard timing and it's worse, you might bump it up a degree or 2....but I'd say lets see some logs first. I can tell you what I am using, as far as WOT timing, and cruise timing, etc etc.

If you get knock at 4k rpm, what sort of timing are you at, and what AFR? Could be exhaust resonating or something as well. Noisy clutches can cause issues too.

my afr is still pretty rich im not sure why its not logging the wideband im gonna check the wires in the morning so hopefully that will help things along.

here are a few logs to look at... not bad tho.

i think im going to wait on making any adjustments till i get the afrs up they are in the mid to high 10s

You know, I fit mine in there in the stock spot/bracket, but my UICP is sort of running around it awkwardly. I've been thinking it would be cool to have a diff overflow tank or something, if we could get one. Where is the evos?

Good logs, good logs. I poured over them finally when I got the chance. All of your knock seems to be on the initial throttle stab, when you punch it . I would say you do need to pull timing, at the earliest point of knock, when you push the pedal down. Just drive along, hit ctrl+space, wait for it to say link engaged. Then, just slowly increase TPS up to 100%, and stop if the knock light goes off. Reduce timing at the first spot you see knock by like 1-2 degrees, reflash, and try again.

dont touch your timing yet I want to see the wideband logs first

you could be running either too lean or too rich when it starts to knock.

alright ill wait on the timing. i been trying to get the wideband working but its pretty picky about the cable. i have to pull out the guage and hold the wires in the right spot and twist and what not.
