I think I'll do that. I'll do the stock rom and idle first since changing the maf is easier then try the 440's. Also got good news. I'll be ordering the tactrix cable tomorrow. I managed to scrap together enough funds for another cable. I thought I was going to have to order on Thursday.

If the USB connector is just loose, there is a good chance your OpenPort 2.0 is fixable. If you purchased it from us, we'll try to repair it at no charge. Send me an email to support at tactrix dot com and we can talk about the options.

Mike,

That certainly sounds like awesome customer service! I bought my 1.3u cable from evoscan.com (limitless designs). Do you by chance sell the 1.3u cable? Thanks for chiming in on us little guys.

I may be confusing the 1.3u evoscan cable with tactrix but I thought they may be made by the same people?

Ah, I see. All of the Openport hardware and EcuFlash software was/is designed by Tactrix. We haven't sold any 1.3 variants since ~2008. For the past few years EvoScan has licensed the design and sold their version of it, which is based on our circuit and using our software. You'll have to check in with EvoScan to see what hardware support they offer. I'm not sure what their policy is.

I couldn't agree more. Heck I had my 440 injectors in a bag for a few months prior to installing. Just ordered new o-rings for them and installed them. They been working great. Plus, with the injectors, you wouldn't have to worry about a lack of fuel. You really don't want to max out the IDC% over a 30 minute project. Also keep in mind that knock can be created by a lack of fuel as well as too far advanced timing. When you actually get into tuning. You want to get your afrs dialed in. 11.5-12 and dip a little richer as you hit peak boost. Then you advance the timing til you get some knock and then back it off a little

Agreed but i would stay in the 10.5-11.5 afr just to make sure since you have stock internals! Also the check engine light for the knock is not really precise since it flashes when you get a missfire and also flashes on false knock most of the time....i have never had the check engine flashing because of true knock even on the dyno the check engine was flashing sometimes and there was no true knock on the dyno sheet!

Mike,

Thanks for the info.

Ok guys I'll install the injectors when I get a chance. I really need my new cable first. I'll be ordering another tonight or tomorrow. I've sent a email to evoscan.com about a repair (if it's possible). I'll see what they say about a repair first since I have my truck to get me around.

You can use your stock lancer injector orings and grommets on the 440cc injectors if they're damaged. With the 440cc and evo maf your car will run much smoother with the rom i sent you! Although you can change the injector scaling to 385 and try that...that's what my current scaling is at right now and im at 14.6-15.6 at idle/cruising! I was boosting at 10-11 psi last year with this rom and going at the track every monday with the lapping club and i have never had any problems beating the heck out of the engine. I made 220whp/210trq on the dyno with no knock at all! Even the guy that was running the dyno said he wouldn't change anything in my rom that it was perfect as is with the resaults of the dyno sheet!

Nice. I bought a injector rebuild kit so I'll get the 440's ready to install. I may install them over the week or this weekend. It depends on when I get the new cable in.

I just boosted and I'm having lean issues when the car warms up. It's lean at idle and cruising. My 1.3u cable just decided to break down on me so I'm waiting to get another to flash my ecu.

I'm also on stock internals. I think we're good up to 12psi with a excellent tune. 12psi could be pushing the limits though.

Small update. Got another 1.3u cable on the way. If it comes in on Saturday I'll be working on the car.
