I have noticed the high knock as well. I had to drastically reduce my timing compared to my stock rim I was running before that. Not sure why either. I have been busy in my days off clearing my property to build so haven't been able to tune more but as of now I still get counts of 7-9 and my performance is suffering due to the extremely low timing.

Have you tried adjusting the transmission maps with the stock ROM and not the GTA rom?

You should try adding 1 to the knock multipliers 03

I'm figuring that your knock is just engine noise just remember you have to be careful

Link is correct I am not auto but the knock problem seems to be universal with these evo roms when transitioning for the lancer rom

I can try this only thing I am scared of is what if this is infact real knock? I asked senate before if he has adjusted his knock maps at all and he has not. Man there has to be a way to find out for sure but idk if its possible yet.

One thing that's been weighing on my mind ever since I swapped to an Evo ECU was if the Evo and Lancer knock sensors are different. I don't know if the signal being output from the Lancer knock sensor is being interpreted correctly by the Evo ROM. I don't have these large counts of knock that people are running into, but I do occasionally have a sub-10 knock count in certain acceleration situations that I'm still working out. I had them with my Lancer ECU too, so I'm not too overly concerned.

This is true never thought of that. Would I run it straight? Or more of a mix?

Mixing would be fine but straight is even better. You just want to bump the octane enough to believe it shouldn't knock with those settings.

Okay hes not auto, so the evo rom Being flashed onto lancer Ecu is NOT going to work the same as using the evo ecu, or is this a problem faced with the evo ecu as well?

There is no dicernable difference for me when I had the evo ecu I had the exact same issues.

It probably is a different knock sensor all together which is why it picks up weird knock issues. Perhaps the evo knock sensor isn't as sensitive?

In any case it can easily be tuned out with corrected knock multipliers for low, mid, and high rpm.

so I guess after I get some race gas and test this out and confirm the knock is still there I will have to flash back my original evo ROM I made to directly replace the lancer rim I was running then adjust the knock multipliers until I am hitting the same knock I was with the lancer ROM in place does this sound right?
