Just out of curiousity... how many miles should I be looking for when buying a 4G64 to do the swap?

When doing any type of swap you're really going to want to check it out before it goes in the engine. Change all the seals and all the gaskets the timing belt the water pump. Personally I was looking for one that had maybe about 50k - 60k miles on it

for about 8-900 bux i might be able to get a motor out to you...ive found 2 G64's for $550. so if you calculate shipping/freight...it might come out to about the same. idk EXACTLY the price of shipping though. try and look for a delivery/shipping service for a package that weighs about 350-400 pounds (damn cast IRON block-lol) and shipping from 91911 zip code.

Earlier in the thread, he said it is possible. You need to use your gears and bell housing, I believe, in order to keep your stock axles...

Yeah dude, read up you need to use the 4G64 tranny, but you need to swap out all the internals from the lancer tranny. It's the first few pages read up.

i WISH Rob would have worked with me on this project when I was just beginning it. I mean I asked him and he was initially willing to, but "ISH" happens i guess...

Hey guys sorry for just jumping in the post....i have an 06 lancer es. I have been wanting to swap out my 4g94 to a 4g64 just like this thread. isnt the 06 lancer chassy code different than the 2002? if so would it completely change the way the 4g64 swap is done in comparison to the 2002 lancer?....also if i just drop it off at the shop how much do you think they would charge? allthough i would MUCH rather do it myself...any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

I believe everything is pretty much the same, but once again dude read ReAd READ!!! Go to page one, look at all the work then decide if you're ready for this. We aren't a shop so we can't tell you how much they will charge, you need to go over to a local shop and find out.
