EVO 8 body kit on Lancer ES 02-03
Hey I have friends here who just swapped in a 4B11 into their 03 ES and it's torn up the first CARS rally of the year already, winning its class and beating many open class cars without an LSD. I see no reason why you can't swap in whatever motor you want. The 02/03 platform has proven to be extremely adaptable for them...

Next to nothing because it's a rally car, the 4b came from a written off 08 5 spd they already had and they are a CNC machinist and electrical engineer the two of em so it looked pretty clean for such a swap. All they needed to fab up are mounts (obviously, to me it looked like they used 1 5/8 strut) and they had custom driveshafts made. There is a thread on mitsunation, but you need to register to see the pix.

Figured as much since I think they're the only people campaigning a Lancer (other than the Ralliart). They're project is considerably easier, for one thing they're staying FWD. They're also using a Mitsubishi engine and presumably a Mitsubishi transmission. The big thing of course is they have a shop, they have a butt load of experience, and they didn't limit themselves to 1500$ and 3 months. The custom axles along are probably close to 1500$. Not sure what they did electronically, if they went full standalone there's another 1000$+ gone.

I'd say just get a new oem radiator.
Ah, I see. I wasn't worried about performance out of the support, I was wondering if it would be easier to bolt on the headlights, coolant bottle thingy, and other things to the evo support, or if they'll bolt to base suppport. Which would look better also.
All I can say is V8 swap not my cup of tea in a jdm car but hey if you got heart and believe it can be done then go for it and don't let anyone discourage you i got alot of constructive criticism about my 4g63 swap and my low budget but honestly that is something completely different.once again good luck with your build my friend
