Umm...why would you want to squeeze a large, heavy and torquey V8 into a lightweight, FWD car? That's something you do if you have too much money, not if you want a daily driver.

I don't agree with the V8, it just ruins the cars balance.

Nooooooooooooooo v8........you would have to change the whole front end.........I liked the idea of changing the lancer into an evo. I just bought a wrecked lancer today. The wife loves my evo but cant drive stick so I am stealing your idea, sorry

Well a 350 or 5.0 would have way more torqe and close to the same power as an evo and its bone stock, so i wouldn't have to upgrade the engine and make it less reliable. As to where i mess with my sohc it could never accerelate the same as a rwd or awd with the same power.
So that is the delima. It would have the mustang suspension and drivetrain with 250ish hp and i think 330 trq and rwd if i were to go that route. Or it would be turbo fwd with 220ish hp with some small add ons.

I think it would very unique and 1 of a kind, and Come on..... V8 RWD!
It would be a like a muscular asian guy....you dont see it very often

Wait the Lancer swap? hahah its cool, you can do as you like to your cars. I just wanted to show people it can be done, and i HATE the way stock lancers look.

Mod a mustang than, the amount of money it would cost to make a Lancer a V8 and RWD would be nuts.

Well if i bought a wrecked mustang with everything there all i would need to do is make a bunch of new mounts for everything and i can weld everything up. I dont see what else i would need that wouldn't be on the donor car besides some metal and a custom driveshaft.

Lets see, custom suspension since the stock one won't be able to handle the extra weight, brakes for the same reason, chassis reinforcement, ECU, redesigned drivetrain, etc.

The mustangs i believe have independent rear suspension, so im going to take ALL the drivetrain parts off of it brakes, coils and shocks, rear diff, tranny, engine and ECU off the car and swap them. And fab new mounts for everything and add supports along the way. How would that not work. Wiring and mounting everything exactly is going to be a son of a *****. But otherwise i think it would work.

You're in for a world of hurt. Swapping one Mitsubishi motor for another is hard enough let alone trying to fit an entirely foreign drivetrain into a car.

a kitten dies every time one of these conversations is started

let me just end this simply. Noob who is posting, you will never swap a mustang engine into a lancer, and then make it RWD. If you had the money to do that, you wouldn't be driving a lancer.

Bingo, the amount of money and skill needed is significant, unless you design engine harnesses for a living, the wiring alone would be an epic quest.

Haha i realize what i would be do would be insane and a ***** to finish. But just like you didn't think what i am converting now wasn't possible, Its happening.
But if it was done, would you guys like it. Would you like to see a V8 Lancer ES?
Its not as hard as it sounds, but dont get me wrong it will be a ***** of a project.
But i think the outcome will be well worth it.
