They are busting anyways, tuned not tuned COBB STG 1 Pro tuned. its becoming a crap shoot if you have issues or not.

For that reason alone I would not buy a STi unless i had money set aside to build the block.

That's because the plates in the rear diff of Evo in the USDM market is stacked improperly to deliberately cause under steer. With a properly stacked rear diff the evo will oversteer to your hearts content.

The Evo is just all around a much more fun car to drive, easier to fix/maintain and much easier and much less expensive to modify. If you wanna pull the motor everytime you have to do spark plugs, and way over spend while having the great risk of blowing your motor, get an STI.

If you want something reliable and a smart choice, go with the Evo.

If you want the subie sound, just unplug two spark plugs and drive around

The sound comes from the way the exhaust manifold is designed. You can get the scooby sound from exhaust.

Awesome 1 year bump. I've never heard of someone pulling the motor to change the spark plugs. When I did them, all I had to remove was the air box.

I have a friend who has a stock motor sti making 405whp on a 30r, me and him ran at the track and I ran a 12.5 and he ran a 12.6 with very similar 60' times. I had a fast time to the 1000' foot mark. He also makes 70 more whp than I do. Sti are more comfortable for daily driving and highway driving with their gear ratios, but evos are quicker and can be modded for cheaper.

On one side, my buddy who has STI said he had to lift motor a little to get to one side.

Then your buddy likes to make his life harder than it has to be. The side without the airbox was even easier, and that's with the stupid emissions cylinder in place. If he has an 06 and back, there is no cylinder and there's tons of space there.

coming from a honda, i felt as if my evo was way easier to work on than my cousin's 06 sti. i felt as if the sti was bit more comfier but not by much, most argue that the sti interior is much better than an evo's but I really don't see the hype about them. my vote goes evo.

The upcoming Subaru WRX and STI will have a new engine, but I wonder how it will hold up. One nice thing they did was use a timing chain instead of a timing belt.
