Focus RS
i am not saying you are the most who argued, Just def. one who interested, which makes perfect sense. Specially when it comes down to performance cars. No one really cares weight with other cars i know that.
Hence the reason why we drive tanks today.
But when it comes to performance cars, the numbers matters for most people, which is absolutely logical.
If i am right you have a miata. Which crowed specially about weights... lol

Yes, I own a Miata. No, I don't care how much it weighs.

that is why i like to respond to you, feels like i am in a same league.
Plenty of car enthusiasts care about weight. To think otherwise is naive. The Evo community was up in arms when the X got bigger and heavier than previous generations. This latest RS is WAY heavier than its racebred ancestors. But whatever, buy heavy cars if you want.
Once again, this thread delivers with unfounded and non researched statements.
MK2 Focus RS = 3230lbs
MK3 Focus RS = 3459lbs
MK3 adds four doors, AWD and 229lbs.
Also, almost the same weight gain as Evo CT9A to CZ4A, and we all know how much the CZ4A sucks... right?

I said racebred. The MK2 was fwd and did not compete in any racing that I know of. The old awd RS' that actually raced, weighed in under 2900 lb.
If you are really going back to cars without ANY modern safety devices then lets compare:
Evo 1 (1992) 2,7XXlbs
Evo 10 (2008) 3,4XXlbs
Escort Cosworth RS (1992) 2,9XXlbs
MK3 Focus RS (2016) 3,4XXlbs
WRX GC8A (1992) 2,7XXlbs
WRX (2016) 3,3XXlbs
STi (2016) 3,4XXlbs
VW Golf Rallye (1998) 2,6XXlbs
VW Golf R (2016) 3,3XXlbs
Maybe you need a time machine back to 1992.

The Sierra RS was bigger than the Focus and still under 2900 lbs. Modern cars (can) use more aluminum than ever. What is all this safety equipment that weighs 700 lbs? Does Navi count as safety equipment too?
Sierra RS was RWD for most of it's life, the third generation added AWD and 220lbs. (notice a parallel here?)
By Evo community do you mean EvoM? Forums are a very small part of the market, and tend to overstate issues and concerns.
And that was what, 20 years ago? The first Evo weighed about 2700 lbs, so by your ****ty logic, the Evo IX is an absolute pig at 3200 lbs.
