Focus RS
Yet you don't give a **** that the Evo IX is 500 lbs heavier than the Evo I. Nor do you give a **** that the Evo X weighs more than the RS. Don't try to bull**** us now by claiming weight and MPG are that important to you. If that were true, you wouldn't be driving a ****ing Evo in the first place.
Anyone that thinks differently, try putting 400 lbs worth of passengers in your car and go for a spirited drive. Now imagine how much faster your brakes will heat up, or tires wear if you were on the track with that extra 400lbs.
I think the IX is a great car. The Evo I was pretty terrible by comparison. However, weight is very important to me. I do not own an Evo X largely because of its girth. My current Evo is sub-3000lb. and I can tell the difference.

The irony is delicious.
In my mind, a lighter fulltime (mechanical) awd car, is inherently better than a heavier part time (twinster) awd Focus RS.
Time will tell, and we will see if the Focus RS has any impact in any form of racing (SCCA, Club level, or Professional). I suspect that it will not.
But I forget, racing isn't import to you. I am sure the Focus RS will be a fine daily driver.

Again, this isn't about "better". The Evo you so love hasn't been available for nearly a decade. The CT9A is dead. Hell, by your crappy logic, the Evo you love, the IX, is ****. Absolute garbage, because it weighs 500 lbs more than the first Evo I.
Actually, the Evo I love is the VI. And just because a car is no longer made, does not mean it ceases to be relevant. As long as you can buy/restore/drive ___ car, its remains an option for a consumer.
The Evo IX is a 10 year old car, minimum. Comparing it to a brand new, off the lot Focus RS that has all the modern day amenities, safety equipment, and a warranty, is retarded.
I never said the IX was too heavy. But yes, I do think its better when you take some weight out of it (as most track cars do). Its the Focus RS is the car that I think it too heavy. Even if you strip down a Focus RS, I think the no front diff and the twinster rear design is poorly suited to track use.

It's not my opinion. I am applying your arguments to the Evo. That is it. I am showing how retarded your argument is by applying it to the car you love because I knew you'd disagree with your own logic if it meant that the car you love was viewed unfavorable. That is exactly what has happened. You ***** about the RS and its weight, yet ignore the fact that the Evo has gained hundreds of lbs over its lifetime as well. The Evo IX is a bloated pig compared to the Evo I.

You are attempting to oversimplify things. Weight is not the only factor. The IX has numerous advantages over the I that more than make up for the extra weight.
In my mind, the Focus RS does not have enough advantages over an Escort RS to outweigh (pun intended) the extra weight.
Focus RS has no front diff, is not full time awd, has a clutch based twinster rear diff that will have issues with heat and increased hp, and is heavy.
