Agreed.......

How much performance you get for the money is the same formula that attracted me to the Evo.

For me def, one deciding factor was the price, but the thing was really attracted me to the Evo was not the stock performance.
Was about the possibilities with the EVo with performance gains. Being really capable/competitive in any type of motorsports, plus same time being really cheap to modify and reliable. (really really great engineering with a quality of performance parts)
For an example vs the STI and others.

That is a biggest bar the RS has to jump. Its all clear the RS will stomp most of the $40K and below competition from the show room. Which is a head start for sure

Yes versatility is along the same consideration. Goes with " bang for the buck!"
and you don't have to pay for the aristocratic overpriced mark up the "elite"
vendors demand.

Early testing looks good...we will see what happens when Merica gets a hold of it....

exactly, thanks to put it out there in a nice way

I have really high hopes for the RS, the RS line was always been good (except the Sierra lol )
See how the USA market will receive another Rally heritage car. I am hoping will not be tested again on the 1/4 mile.... lolololololol

Hopefully people will understand the car performance is not about 1/4 mile neither the engineering.

That was my first thought. Lots of American tuners focus on the straight line performance (which is great for developing power mods).

Even though a lot of the early press shone a spotlight on the Drift Mode and the rear wheel drive character of the car, it's the AWD safety net at the limit that produces the results. You can see in the BMW lap that the drive almost lost the rear of the car. I feel that we have gone beyond the level of HP that drivers of RWD cars can safely exploit on the street.

What other cars usually lap around the same as the BMW so we can bench race and start arguments???

Even though the AWD lost a center and front diff along the way the results are there.

For some people, yes. I would have no problem leaving it alone and just slapping on an intake and exhaust.

I think we all 100% know that the usual american companies will make ridiculous power, put slicks on it, and find a way to defeat the front diff so they can do their burnouts. It's a waste of time, IMO, but let them have their fun, I suppose. They like to turn all the best-handling cars in the world into Camaros LOL.

Based on your signature, i am sure you would stop at the exhaust and intake only level

you right though, long starights, and big engines would do most of the USA market just fine.

Wow. I'm impressed with the work that went into that tire.

I don't think they're compromised. From what I can tell, the main difference between the RS spec tires and off the shelf ones will be sidewall stiffness (stiffer on the RS tires). Typically, OEM's get custom construction, and even sizing, but not compound. If you look on tire rack, a couple of the Ferrari spec Michelins are an inch wider tread width than the same size shelf tire, even though the sidewall says they're the same size.

"The car needs high pressures because of its weight : 2.8 bars on the front, 2.6 bars on the rear (2.4 bars front and rear for track use). It’s very high for sport tire but we didn’t have any other choice: the car is heavy, and the tires are “small”..."
