10 bucks says it'll still have an EJ just with DI adapted to it so they can claim "new engine"

just like they claim that the current sti and wrx have different chassis cause the sti has fender flares

For a fairly expensive hatchback, that doesn't sound limited at all.

Well considering there are more that 3100 Ford dealerships in the US, that means many dealers won't be able to get one till 2017.

... and 1600 for the entire year, likely you'd get less than 300 at launch with in the first 2 months? Normally it ramps up.
Trust me, you'll probably want the 2017 model anyway

I don't want one at all. But I am happy to see it being made. I am sure I will get a chance to ride along in one at the track...eventually.

"Oh, and you won’t look like an idiot when you’re trying to impress everyone with your fully sikkkkkk drifts y0, as it’s got anti-stall technology on it. Use your fists and feet of ham to make the car go kaput, and it’ll automatically kick the clutch in for you.

(UPDATE: According to a Ford spokesman, it doesn’t exactly just kick the clutch in. If you stall, you just drop the clutch yourself and the starter motor will automatically turn the car back on. You can even leave it in gear.)"

?

gosh i predict so many crash in the near future...

i truly hope i will be wrong on that.

Another car that uses tech nannies to make up for lack of driver skill lol. Just what the market needs.

first of all , i see encouraging drivers to drift, i am sure hoping in they mind that will only happen in closed course .... SURE...
Even encouraging it so far, if you can't drift, its still oke the car will do it for you even to the level where you cant even stall...

Then comes down to the drifting Technic with AWD , with clutch in just before stall probelm, for those who about to stall during in drifting with AWD car...
ETC ETC.

I am not sure how this all propaganda will and do help for the RS in long term.

Why are people doubting the strength of the RS drivetrain?

If the stock car comes with ~350 lb-ft of torque. With a normal split of ~50/50, then we know the front can handle > 175 lb-ft. The "drift button" channels 70% of the RS' torque to the rear wheels, so we know the rear can handle > 245 lb-ft.

Even if the drivetrain is designed to bias "added" power more to the front, that seems pretty robust to me for stock components.

I wasn't worried about strength. You can typically about double the rated torque capacity of OEM drivetrain components...lol.

My concern is "any additional torque from modifications will go to the front".

The Golf R, TTS and especially the TT-RS with it's 2.5 with Haldex sustains some good torque, so why would the RS not?

I really really really really suggest doing more reading on Haldex before making judgements of where power goes and what it can handle.

Also take a look at the people that remap haldex units.

I'm not making judgments, I'm going off what the guy on the other forum is saying. The two haldex car's I've driven were nothing to get super excited about. And one of them had the haldex tuned..
