no, happens a lot. and even if not officially limited, it just happens for some popular cars that are in high demand...

my dad is trying to buy a honda pilot touring and they've been sold out everywhere for months

We can always test drive fedoras.

This attitude against the theory of how haldex works and therefore feels sounds like when my dad used to grumble when watches changed from analog to digital. "Get off my lawn!"

I said this before too. If you don't expect a Evo, then expectations change. Very few cars are like the Evo. The Golf R has no flared fenders, no weight reduction compared to the GTi and it's a great car, if you shift your mindset.

Honestly if you are looking for a "raw" car in this day and age, I think you are looking in the wrong segment to be honest. Those days are long gone. The Evo was the last of its breed.

You are going to have to look at Lotus, etc for that now or have the ability to compromise. I think my Fiesta ST is engaging and raw and I really like it. If I dismissed it based on it being a FWD car then it would have been my loss.

Internet forums are the biggest piles of **** sometimes.

On-demand awd has historically been the worst of the possible awd configurations. Here is a good explanation of all the awd variations https://sites.google.com/site/awdand4wd/

I guess we will see if Fords new haldex variation changes that. In other news, electronically controlled center diffs return to WRC in 2017.

The fact you say "historically" suggests that you missed his point. Historically, 4-cylinder engines haven't made a lot of power, but we all know well that argument works now. Your link also has no citations, and no source. I could have made that drunk last night just to troll the **** out of razorlab.

If I thought everything that was written was truth or how I would actually experience it, I wouldn't have experienced a lot of great (to me) things in life. I suggest driving a newer haldex car at some point in your life and forming your own opinion instead of vomiting internet "information".

So you would rather have a haldex based system than an active center diff?

That's not the question. I'd rather have Porsche 911 Turbo but that doesn't mean the RS isn't a good car.

A lot of cars are "good cars". I think we were more hoping for a proper Evo replacement. Since my subscription to flatbrim weekly got cancelled, I havent been to keen on a Suby to fill the void if I wanted a newer car. At least not until they replace that pile of EJ25.
