Focus RS
I have tried to avoid speculation and comment on the information we do have. No weight reduction, limited colors, no flared fenders, and a fwd biased awd system is all known info.
Defend haldex-y awd systems all you want. Personally, I prefer a center diff, ideally one where the driver can control front-rear bias.
But I guess the "drift button" will let hoonigans drift like a pro

I miss mine. I should have kept it....But I used the funds to buy my first Evo, so..... LOL
Yet, here you are :-D
Honestly if you are looking for a "raw" car in this day and age, I think you are looking in the wrong segment to be honest. Those days are long gone. The Evo was the last of its breed.
You are going to have to look at Lotus, etc for that now or have the ability to compromise. I think my Fiesta ST is engaging and raw and I really like it. If I dismissed it based on it being a FWD car then it would have been my loss.
Internet forums are the biggest piles of **** sometimes.

You know how they don't make them like they use to?
Well its true.... and the consumers are to blame.
Also, the hot hatch market continues to explode https://www.carthrottle.com/post/goo...or-production/
I disagree, the new Miata, Porsche GT3, BWM M2, Mustang, Camaro, and CTR all seem to be raising the bar in their respective classes.

Yes, and I personally won't be buying one of those either (if anything I would be looking at the next gen STI - once it gets the FA engine and body redesign - Impreza gets new body in 2017).
I was just pointing out how a great many auto makers are making better cars than they use to. Now that Honda is back in the performance game, I expect the baby NSX will trump the S2000 as well.

To say Ford isn't making better cars than they did 10 yrs ago is a little funny lol. The current focus offerings are leaps and bounds ahead of the 2005 focus, and the "SVT" package they offered on that old model...
No where did I say Ford isn't making better cars than they use to. In fact, I cited the mustang as an example of being better than older versions. Whether the new RS will end up being considered the best RS ever is yet to be determined. But the Escort Cosworth RS, Sierra RS Cosworth and RS500 set that bar pretty high. Time will tell.
Seriously.. If it weren't for speculation and bench racing based on even the limited information, then this thread would be about 2 pages long.
From what Ive seen, opinions arent even "ford sucks" or any of that crap. Its just based on what we can see or read on the interwebs. All in good fun, if its not fun for you then why do you care (Not Kaj, razorlab)?

thats the part that I'm refering to as hipsters...
That said, "RS" (rally sport) cars were often involved in actual racing. Which the current Focus really is not. I hope the success of the Focus RS will bring other RS models to market. I would be very interested to see an awd Fiesta (even with a haldex-y awd system).
Well the Ford RS line has been so varied, and sporadic, it is hard to say. Here is a good timeline http://www.caranddriver.com/flipbook...-ford-rs-model

Bingo! A "racing model" that does no actual racing that sounds legit... lets throw some Ken Block at it and the kids will love it. A sprinkle of turbo noise and with all the driver aids that makes them think they are the next Jimmy, Colin or Alister McRae so the insurance rates are stupid high from dumb accidents lol.
I guess some of us will have more street cred when we testdrive it...
